Default Food allergy/cost of food and Cohens?

I'll admit I haven't been for an intro session yet so this may be covered there...but if I have food allergies am I still able to do Cohens?
I can't eat eggs, banana, melons and a couple other fruits and vegies. But I see example meals include eggs and omelettes?

Also, we are on quite a tight budget, how much is this diet likely to add to our weekly grocery bill? We already eat quality steak and chicken breasts, I guess I'm asking is it overly expensive to eat this programme? Does that question even make sense??

I totally get it's a lifestyle change, and it's going to be cheaper than takeout (which we really don't have anyway), and you need to think differently about the foods you choose, I've never really dieted so not sure what to expect.

I was talking about this with my bestest bud Carolyn *waves*, and I can't believe I'm 30kg overweight . Something needs to be done!!

Dont worry,
It will not cost as much on Cohens as it would to eat "normally".

When you fill in your application, let them know of your allergies.

Good luck

Hi Amethyst,

I am allergic to eggs and soy and it hasn't affected my ability to do this programme and lose weight. When you go to the info session and fill in the form it asks you to list allergies. I have found that doing this programme has reduced my grocery bill considerably and I am happy to pay more for the BEST steak. It is the best decision I have made for my health in a very long time,

All the best

Andrea

Great question. In my experience, the grocery bill has dropped amazingly and now I buy the best cuts of meat etc.

Cool, thanks guys
I was worried as my mum has done jenny craig (I think?) but a lot of the food had egg in it so she was told to skip the meal. IMO that's just setting you up for failure!!

Hi Amethyst

I am allergic to nuts and all fish- am still on cohens- not nuts allowed on the program so no problem- they will still list the foods you are allergic to on your plan, but they give you 4 or more choices at each meal so you just ignore that one.

good luck

I spend 1/4 to 1/2 what I spent on just my food prior to starting Cohens and I buy only the best of the best meat/chicken!!

Hi Amethyst,
This was one of my concerns at the begginning too but 4 weeks into it, I am proved so wrong.
I have found it is heaps cheaper than the way we used to do our grocery shopping, the meat that used to do two of us one meal will be enough for at least one for my partner (he isn't doing it) and about 4 for me, therefore reducing it considerably.
I don't spend much on takeaway coffees anymore (long black is cheaper than soy flat white anyway).
All condiments last longer, so no need to replace as often.
It is a wonderful programme, I hope you enjoy it.
Good Luck
Fiona
