Glucomannan thought on the plan
I'm just wondering if glucomannan is allowed on the program. I'm using my old plan, so not with a consultant at the moment. Seems useful in so many ways especially the constipation bit, but I'm unsure. Tx so much F |

Re: Glucomannan thought on the plan
hi Lessthan 10... I had never heard of it before, just did a google search. Did you use it before Cohens ?? Just wondering.. it isn't unheard of to have irregular bowel movements because the amount of foods are now so much lower... maybe Koh can shed more light on the subject... I wouldn't want to give a miss leading statement .. Nice to have you hear

Re: Glucomannan thought on the plan
Hi Jesse
I stumbled across it on instagram and seemed like a useful product for occasional use, especially occasions and difficult cohen moments. I have 10 kg to lose as of last week. Did Cohen's last year after the birth of my fourth baby, but bad habits have caused me to gain a significant amount back. So I 've restarted beginning of September. Current weight was 62 kg last week, goal is 52 kgs. Will start a diary if I have the energy but at the moment spending lots of time reading diaries and educating myself. Hoping to only weigh after a month at least as I am a slow loser and the scale demotivates me depending on the number. |

Re: Glucomannan thought on the plan
Hi Less,
A quick read on Google told me a few things:- 1. It appears to be a kind of flour made from the root of a plant. 2. It appears to have some beneficial effects re constipation, sugar levels, etc 3. Taken as a tablet, it "might"(?) be somewhat harmful...... The Google page seems to be half-assed re that particular bit. I have no idea whether or not Dr Cohen has any comment regarding its use. Thus, I will not be promoting it nor warning against it - I only know what "Dr Google" has provided OK, so back to you, Lessthan - first off, my thoughts go like this:- a. Asy always used the mantra "Health first, Cohens second" - so do what you need to do to get your health right b. Have you used this product before, and if so, was it promoted by your own Doctor? c. If b. was "Yes", did it do what you wanted? d. If b. was "No", has someone else recommended it, and, if so, are they also doing Cohens? As with xylitol, I will always recommend going via your clinic (or the head clinic in Perth) for clarification as Doc Cohen is the one who provided your Plan, and all of the "Do's and Don't's" that go along with it. If you have successfully used this when NOT on Plan, then you might already have a good idea of its benefits anyway. If so, then "a." probably comes back to the fore, doesn't it? Sometimes our health means we must take actions that might get in the way of weightloss temporarily - is that so bad? Then again, maybe ConnieK will pop by once more and be able to provide more surety for you. Come in Connie !! Koh

Just a big happy hushpuppy I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed... And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !! |
