ALWAYS check the labels!
Now, usually my husband opens the can, weighs out whatever I need for a certain meal, and pops the rest into a zip lock bag, where I have been getting it from... so until today, I haven't seen the can or label, but did know the size of the can and the % from what my husband read out to me. Upon reading the can this morning I noticed it contains SUGAR & SALT! I am fuming! Needless to say, I won't be buying this brand of tinned asparagus anymore, and I will be searching around until I find one without sugar or salt. So... I guess this is a warning to everyone to please make sure they read the labels on everything they're buying to eat... who knows what could be lurking in there! |

sugar
I realised today that the mayo I have been using (Kraft 97% Free) for the past 3 months has sugar and egg in it. I freaked out about the egg, because i have it with my meat and salad (mixing protiens) and of course we should not be having sugar. I rang the clinnic and they said it was fine, that the good doc allows for a teaspoon of mayo a day and that the Kraft one is fine.
so it would seem sugar is fine if it is mayo. cheers, Mimi |

That's why you are only allowed one teaspoon. Remember, your fruit allowance is sugar as well but must be of a certain size or weighed, depending. That is why they are restricted to size or weight. Dr. C has already allowed for that.
