Michelle's journey
I started on my cohen's journey two days ago. I completed cohens 5 years ago and lost 13kgs and felt fantastic but over the last two years i seem to have overindulged and put it all plus more back on. I am currently at my highest weight ever- 77 kg's. I am 164cm so am well and trully out of my healthy weight range. I feel annoyed at myself for letting myslef get to this- i am a binge eater and will enjoy anything junk food in large amounts. I seem to relate food to every emotion i have- sadness, happiness, stress!! i am 26 years old and feel like i should be at my healthiest weight and most active right now. I am tired of being worried about not fitting into my clothes and trying to fit into bathers for summer. My husband and i r planning a trip backpacking for 6 weeks around asia at the end of the year and i know i dont wait to be stressed about my body while i am away when i should be having fun! We also are hoping to plan a family next year and being a midwife, i know how important it is to be healthy and have a balanced body at that important stage of your life! I am really hoping that I can stick to this diet this time. I have tried so many and none of them have ever worked as well as cohen's. Look forward to hearing some words of advice |

Re: Michelle's journey
Hi Michelle
I am sure you will find loads of great support on this forum. I am only been on Cohen's for a week, but am feeling much better. I am sure you will be very successful and get that body that you want! Looking forward to hearing how you go. I don't have much advice as a newbie myself, other than being creative with the food we have is important so check out the recipes discussion, i found it really helpful. Good luck! AnnieD |

Re: Michelle's journey
Welcome Michelle!
Like AnnieD I've only been on Cohens for a week (well, this is Day 9 to be exact) but so far I'm feeling really good and loving this forum! Its so good to know there are people all over the world going through the same thing. Detox was a bit crap but in a weird way it was kinda good to know that I was cleansing my body. I can completely relate re not fitting into clothes and stressing about bathers - I can't wait for the day that I don't even have to think about what will fit me because everything in my closet will. Good luck! |

Re: Michelle's journey
Hi Michelle,
I completed Cohen's in July 2008. I lost just over 20kg on Cohens and had lost almost 30 previous to that. If I had one piece of advice it would be get your head right - you say you use food for dealing with emotions - you need to fix that hon - or at least examine why you do it or whatever you acheive will be undone the first trauma you deal with .... Head space is really important in this journey, take time to deal with it on the way. Good luck and welcome top the forum Connie
