Newbie - Breakfast - Help!!! I do not eat eggs or yogurt! Any suggestions???
I am new to this forum and Cohens.. have had my blood test am waiting for results to come back and hopefully start ASAP.... I have been reading all the posts and it looks like people mainly incorporate eggs and/or yoghurt into their breakfast... my problem is these food make me gag and I can't imagine being able to stomach them every day.. Do you have any alternate suggestions?? Also - Is there a generic list on the forum where I can see the allowed foods vegies etc as I coule like to go shopping for these and ready to start straight away. I am really looking forward to starting the new lifestyle as I have a HEAP of weight to loose and its now or never for me.. Thanks all for such interesting reading on the forum and I look forward to hearing from anyone |

Hi,
When you finally get your program, it will list out all the vegetables and protein that you can use. The list might vary due to locations like in Singapore, there is Cai Xin but I am not sure if it is written that way for Australian program. Yoghurt and Eggs are the common breakfast but you can choose to have others like cheese (not too often). you will see that when you receive your program.

Hi there,
If you dont like yoghurt on its on, you can try it as a drink? I mix my yoghurt allowance with water and a bit of salt and have it as a drink every morning. Very yummy. I find if I have yoghurt on its own I get a funny feeling in my stomach later on, but having like this has been great. You can also make mini quiches for breakfast. Mix your egg allowance with some vegies from your list and put them in muffin trays and you can have that for breakfast, you dont taste the egg much that way Hope that helps, Serena

make a apple yoghurt smoothie in the morning....it gives you a real boost...just stew your apples in a bit of sprite zero in the microwave....drain the liquid and throw in the blender add your yoghurt allowance and apple with some ice and extra water and whisk away until its a nice smoothie...reall yumm!! have with a crispbread...

I assume there is another food choice in the same food group as yoghurt and egg? For example xxg seafood & xxg veg? Thats what it is like on my program and I assume others would be similar. Don't feel you have to have traditional breakfast foods while on Cohen's. If you want steak or chicken from another group as your breakie then go ahead - its all about making it work for you. Hope this helps a little. |

Welcome to the forum. Your decision to proceed with Cohens is one you will love very soon. The weight will drop quickly and you will feel your clothes getting looser. Then the prospect of eating egg or yoghurt does not feel so daunting. There are many on this forum who find themselves eating food which previously they have not liked so be prepared to check out your new taste buds. I would advise you to speak with your consultant immediately. Before your programme is done up you should have declared any aversions or allergies.
