Default Hi I've started again

Hi All

I just thought that I would introduce myself. I've just started Cohen's for the second time. I lost 28kgs the first time in 2006. My weight stayed resonably stable for at least 18 months. I slowly put on some weight then in 2009 I had a shocking year and I just started to balloon.(I am a comfort eater!)
I finally settled and again I find myself wanting to get back in control.
As I live in Adelaide I am doing the programme with the Perth office. So far so good... I am going to Perth in March so have made an appointment to have a face to face.
I am enjoying the forum as I get some good ideas and helps me with motivation.
Thanks for all of the info on the forum.

Cheers Linda

Hey Linda!

Welcome to the forum!

This place is great for all the helpful tips and the support! I guess you have probably noticed quite a few differences between your new program and the one you had back 06?! Like some newly approved foods and whatnot.

6kgs gone! Yeehah!! What week are you in?

Keep it up,

xMissy

Hi Lynny and welcome (back) to the forum

Sounds like you've done some work 'internally' before heading back here, with this realisation:

I was one of them too and from everything I have read here, it seems you have to deal with that issue to be able to keep the weight off permanently.

The advantage you have is you know that weight is going to come off quick smart!

Hi All

Thanks for the support. I am in week 5 at the moment and am doing well. I have done some work internally as I feel that unless you are in the right "head space" nothing you do will work.

I'm heading off to Perth next week and have made a face to face appointment with Cohen's. I'm determined to make myself accountable at every opportunity I can.
I was very disappointed that Cohens had closed down in Adelaide. But the ladies in Perth have been keeping in contact with me and me with them. All this and the lovely forum should give me the support I need. Hopefully I in turn will be able to give others support when I am able.

Linda

Hi there!
I've just posted a similar post, about restarting -
I had success in 2006 also, but slackness has made me put my weight back on! All my own doing unfortunately. Have between 15 - 20 kgs to lose...
I was going to go back to my original program initially, before I consider getting another (money is a factor....) The comment about chages has got me thinking though... now I am doubting myself..
Any thoughts or advice from experience?

Hi Ando01

My new program is not that different to my old one but I decided that i needed the accountability. I know someone who is using their old program as she got pregnant during her first go. She is having great success.

Good luck. I believe that the forum will give you good support and motivation.

Linda

Hi Ando01,
I am using my old program and if you set your mind to it and follow it 100% it still works. There are a few changes but I found them on this forum which really helps. I have a finally come to a realization that if I don’t lose weight now I may not be around to do the things I long for. I am determined this time, a step towards a new me. So don't doubt yourself you can do it let 2010 be a great year .
Tammy

Welcome Back Lynny Looks like you have had a great result so far.
That sucks there is no clinic in Adelaide, I thought I was lucky that there was a clinic in Darwin Glad the Perth clinic is being supportive though

Hi there Lynny
Congratulations on ur come back ur doing really well so far and Im sure u will reach ur goal in no time! Cohens sure is a commitment and u do definately have to be in the right head space to be able to do it and succeed. And I think ur there right now! Well done!!!
I think ur absolutely right about having the face to face and being in contact with someone from the Cohens office and the Perth office is awesome and very supportive.
My sister my mum and myself did the program together and we all lost alot of weight and have kept most of it off its been a year almost since I stopped the program. (I have put back on about 5 or 6 kilos) and I know its my fault because have been comfort eating lately and I know it is wrong and I know I need to stop and take control before I put all the 18 kilos I lost back on which would be very devestating for me and I dont even want to think about it! I have tried to get back on the program so many times but I keep failing I think the great part of my personal success on the program was the face to face contact with the consultant in the office and knowing I had weigh in's and blood tests too. So I think u have made the right decision there.
As for going for a new program I know if I put my head to it I can lose the weight I have put back on in no time! I know a few people who have just followed the guidelines of cohens and eaten the allowed foods on cohens without actually weighing the meals and have lost around 10 kilos a month! In the end cohens is healthy eating and if we eat healthy we lose weight and we keep it off.
Looking forward to seeing u progress to ur ultimate goal!
