Default Question about weighing Fruits and Vegetables

I am allowed XXXg kiwi and XXX g mango, etc. How do I weigh it? I bought small kiwis that weigh between 70 to 80 g each. What about the mango? Do I have to take out the pit before weighing?

What about when I combine veggies like garlic, onion and some greens? do I already have to peel and chop the garlic and onion? I tried weighing it with skin on and weighed it again after I washed and chopped it. There is a difference of 3g.

Thanks in advance.

HI Winkiedo,

Greetings and welcome.

it is simple really - you weigh everything you put in your mouth! Are you going to eat the seed or the peelings - if yes then weigh them, if not then discard and weigh what you are going to eat.

With the kiwifruit - just cut and weigh or even weigh and cut. Total amount is your given weight. A tip always dry your food if you have washed it - the water has weight. If you eat your kiwifruit with the skin on - I do it helps with the bowel movements - then weigh it that way. If you prefer peeled then weigh with no skin.

PLease don't post your weights - it is against forum rules ...for many reasons. I will change your specific weights for XX's. No problems - just so that oyu know for future.

You've made a great choice
Shanara

both mangoes are allowed. you just have to weigh it. I personally use the kalabaw variety with my yogurt. Yummy!
