My NYF Diary
Default Please read this - re New Diaries

Hi all,

I wanted to explain a few things re this "New Diaries" section.

First off, we ask you to "Start your Own Diary" in the New Diaries area.

Second, we ask you also complete a Diary Request Form (see below, or in "Quick Links" - top right of any page).

Third, continue to use your Diary - no need to "wait for Approval" - get in and use it, build up some friends, memories, advice, have a vent, whatever.... Approval will come by some day, whereupon it will be whisked away to "Personal Diaries" (but we leave a link in New Diaries to enable you find it in its new home, so don't worry).

Don't just stick around in "New Diaries" either.... All new members are free to wander around the other forums - maybe go visit your new friends that have been Approved, and their Diaries are now in "the big pond" (Personal Diaries).

Even if you don't know anyone, go check out some Personal Diaries anyway. You may find :-
1. People who live near you (you might wish to catch up in person?)
2. Your Diary is likely to appear in that section soon - so make friends before that happens, so that "others know you" when your Diary is promoted.
3. You may find people with similar amounts to lose (some may already be months ahead) - but you can learn from THEIR journeys before you even get to where they are.
4. You might just find you "click" with some people - their writing style, their way of approaching life, their responses to work colleagues, etc. If they click, they click !! Make your self known by replying in their Diary.

As Asy pointed out in that other "sticky" - it is important to apply for Approval on the same day you start your Diary.
Go here to do that : DIARIES REQUEST PAGE

But, the converse is also true. i.e. It is important to Start a Diary when you seek Approval. Currently, we have over 20 members already Approved, but they have NO Diary that can be moved

So, do BOTH things - start (and continue to use) your New Diary, and do a Diary Request too. Even if you aren't approved immediately, that only means that we "do them in batches" - it could take 2 - 3 weeks (or more).

As all can understand, we DON'T send PM's to "notify you" of Approvals and/or changes. What we DO, is to signify Approval by "moving your Diary into Personal Diaries" - and we leave an expiring "re-direct" link, and a post to alert you to the promotion of your Diary.

So, if you come to New Diaries, and your Diary has been Approved, there will be a link you can click that takes you to it's new home !! That link will disappear - usually after 7 days.

Any questions, feel free

Koh

Also, to add to Koh's excellent post, Just a note to let you know that I only usually approve diaries on weekends.

So, It's usually a week or so before your diary is 'approved'. If you have submitted one diary application, that's enough please don't submit a second (or third!), it does sometimes take a bit for me to get to them... Sorry.. But you can write in your diary in here in the meantime!

Thanks,

asy.

Both Koh and Asy are caught up with other things at the momment so not spending much time on the forum.

I am anticipating that there will be a backlogue on new diary approvals so apologies in advance to those who have applied. Just keep writing in your diaries in new diary section for now.

Hi Suzanne,

You might've missed the Sticky that is called "How to use this forum" - in there, Asy tells you to do two things -

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=244270#post244270

You've done one of them, by completing a Diary Request. It will be Approved at some point (it is not yet - but Asy gets busy at times).

The second thing is that you start your own Diary in this New Diaries section. We don't respond directly - in time, your Approved Diary will be Moved to the Personal Diaries section. But we need to have a Diary to move once Approved, so please go ahead and kick one off

Koh

Go for your life, Leanne - the only thing that isn't needed is a second Diary Request. Here's Asy's words :-
Quote:

She means "Diary Request" there - if you have applied, that's it !!

But keep on posting in your new diary as often as you wish. Sooner or later, your new diary will be moved to the "Personal Diaries" section. For now, make some friends in the "New Diaries" area - it's all good. You are doing everything right,

Koh

Hi Leanne,

What will happen, Leanne, is that one day you will go to New Diaries and your Diary will show up - but it will "look different" - it will have a title that starts with "Moved: " but, you just click on it anyway, and you will be whisked to its new location.

So, don't worry - you won't miss it. Of course, if you are having trouble finding your diary, just ask a Mod.

Hi Kylie,

I think this might be what you are looking for :-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11717

You have posted a few times in that thread - but this was initially as a reply to VeeDub, then others replied to both VW and you. Probably better you start afresh, so that VW's thread can then "stand alone" - and don't worry - the "New Members" is EXACTLY the right area to "try stuff", and get to know how it all works. So, don't feel bad about anything.

But now, you might like to start a Diary just for you. You can still Copy some of what you have written already (your call) rather than typing it all again - but, that's up to you.

To create a New Diary of your own, you need to start a New Thread. Go here to get the idea...
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8878

And yes, I saw your Diary Request in place !! Make a Diary now, and you are on your way,
Koh
