Default Half asleep munchies

Just wondering if I share this bad habit with anyone else, and what you might do to stop the behaviour if you do it.

I have been notorious pretty much for the last 20 years on and off to be half asleep or woken from sleep and either wonder directly to the fridge, or past it and 9 times out of 10 stop and grab whatever could be available and mindlessly eat it back to bed. Or I have been asleep, half woken up, thought snack time, straight to the fridge and then back to bed.

I did this today for the first time in a long time....but the ' snack ' went into a oh well, blown it now consumption fest for no reason. So I am going to put the breaks on myself not to eat for the first half hour from getting up from sleep or rest....to see if the time lapse will help....it is frustrating as I was't hungry, probably never really am at that part of the rest, but there is something comforting about consuming half asleep ... and now it is irritating me thinking about it......

Hi Jessy,
There was someone else on here (in earlier years) who I think even resorted to "padlocking the pantry". In her case though, it might've even been "sleepwalk eating" (so, not even awake )

If I recall her name, I'll pop back and point you in her direction (her Diary held a lot of info re her condition as I recall...)

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

Sorry - I couldn't resist...

Why married women are fat, and single women are skinny?

A single woman gets home, checks what's in the fridge and goes to bed...
