New Foods???
For example, I wanted to eat fresh fish, but only really like flathead. Even though it wasn't listed on my programme, my consultant said it was ok as long as it was a white non-oily fish. I often wonder if there are any other foods out there that would be good for Cohens, but haven't been listed? I guess I am just getting a little bored with the variety there is to choose from. There are so many different fruits vegetables etc out there. Surely not all of them have been tested? What about things like olives in brine? OK now that I have rambled and made nearly no sense at all, I will get back in my box

It is interesting but I can understand the reasons with the fruit and vegetables. I have a book called - Julie Stafford's Juicing for Health - first published by penguin books Australia 1974 - which lists the nutrients per 100 g or 31/2 oz - and it’s interesting to look at what is allowed and what isn't such as the difference between Red & Green Capsicum - with a difference in fat, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, iron, Vitamin A, & Vitamin C.
I have looked at all the others and it’s the same with the ones you can have and the ones you can't have. I think all food would have been tested by now - but maybe Dr Cohen’s research has been finely tuned and balanced for a set period of time for the maximum lose of fat from our bodies. Whilst there would be other fruits and vegetables that are similar they may then extend the time out - which in turn lends itself to a greater risk of deviation fro the plan. The idea would be to get it over with as fast as possible whilst being healthy and without damaging our bodies but without extending the period as well. I think it’s all a mind thing and you really need to get your mind around why you eat as well during the diet period - then reefed then hopefully you can stick with it after reconditioning your body and eating habits. This is my layman’s understanding of just a little bit of the programme – whilst I like to understand I am happy that it works for me and others. Andy
