Re: recognising why you sabotage.
Hi Leah...
Do you have any photos of where you are wanting to get back to? If so you, keep these around the house (bathroom mirror, by the bed anywhere that helps keep you motivated) also it is great to have a look at the Cohen's website and find someone who has lost a similar amount of weight to what you have to lose and read their story, or any of their stories there they are great for inspiration. If you don't have any photos of a goal you are aiming for (I didn't have any, have always been overweight) you could do a photo diary as well as keeping a diary on here... do a photo every 4-6 weeks as it really helps to actually SEE the changes and how far you have come. When I started the program in September 2014 I thought the goal weight that was put in front of me was completely insane and unbelievable BUT I was wrong! I made it (eventually, wasn't easy) and I know you will too! Whenever you are feeling the self sabotage creeping in just get on here and put it all out there and we will all help you stay on track as best we can!! This really is a 'lifestyle" path that we are on and one of the hardest things is to retrain our brains to our new way of life. I am back on plan now after gaining some weight in maintenance but I have learnt a lot from this program and now it is up to me to implement it for life. Wishing you all the very best of luck on your journey Allie |

Re: recognising why you sabotage.
I'm a self sabotager - I'm not really conscious of the true underlying reasons but I can't help myself and do it as a reward and as punishment.
I've tried Cohen's before - succeeded in weightloss but neglected refeed and consequently gained the weight back and more. Some unknown hormone imbalances compound the effect of poor diet choices. When I compare Cohen's to all other diets - it's actually the most balanced lifestyle program and covers a lot of the fundamentals like low GI, low fat, sugar free, portion control, fasting, whole foods etc. It's why I come back to it! You are doing an awesome thing - making a difference for yourself. And your already part way there on Day 5 - keep going!

Interesting that you have identified self sabotaging behaviors. . I think that is what I do too. I'd like to think and discuss this a bit more..... I'm new to this forum. Day 1 on Cohens ,second time around.

Re: recognising why you sabotage.
Hi it's my time!
I'm a long time self-sabotage-er. Its like I'm either on it, eating healthy, exercising or going nuts eating all the naughty food until I'm too full to eat any more. It is the most frustrating thing. I can undo all my hard work in a day or two off the wagon. That's one reason that Cohen's works for me. Its a 100% on the program deal, no room for self-sabotage. I also, have great pride in myself when I follow 100%, so that keeps me from getting off track. At least once I make it through the first couple weeks. I'm starting 1pd again next week. I decided that this is it. It's time. 100% is the only option. I think knowing I've paid for it helps too. We'll see. We can do it!!! 100% Good luck! Let us know how its going. |
