Default BFG's refeed diary (YAY!)

Oh goodness! Am so excited to be here... can't quite believe I made it to this end of the rainbow

I've got a 15 day program to work off, and I know I used to be blonde , but I do find it pretty confusing - add this here, minus that, this comes out of that allowance... Oh well, I'm going to take it one day at a time, and do my absolute best. Like SMS, I've also planned out my meals - but only got up to day 8 because that's where things got a little confusing for me. I'm going to be reading all your diaries and asking loads of questions... so please bare with me

Refeed day 1:

Starting weight: 61.7kg

On the menu for today:
Yoghurt, cinnamon, apple (the usual brekkie)
Chicken and Gem Squash (1/2 extra protein and veg allowance added)
2 Provita and an Apple
Beef and Veggie soup (remaining 1/2 extra protein and veg allowance)
Pineapple for pud! YAY! I've missed pineapple!

Have a great Monday y'all!

Way to go BFG! About 4 days in you should start to feel "satisfied" with your meals. That's place where you are no longer hungry but you don't feel like a stuffed turkey! That's coming on around day 9 or 10 till the end! Enjoy it all. You deserve every bit of it. It's not who comes in first in this marathon, but who finishes!........

Great going BFG! Welcome to refeed. Unlike SMS I've been feeling stuffed since the first day, but it's getting easier - maybe as my stomach expands again?! I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job of refeed, just like you did on the program. I'll look forward to reading about it.

It's refeed day 2 - woo hoo!

Weight today: 61.2kg (-0.5kg)

Thanks for the warm welcome y'all! I feel all warm and fuzzy having all you fab people around! Thank you!

I've got to say, I'm enjoying this refeed thing so far. Not because of the food so much, I haven't got to the real exciting stuff yet, but because I'm needing to think about what I'm going to eat, how I'm going to split the quantities. I only realise now how bored I was getting on the program doing the same thing day in and day out - it feels more challenging now

I had my long awaited slice of bread with lunch today. To quote Connie - "meh!" Wasn't nearly as good as I was expecting it to be. There's a shocker!

Okay - so here's my first question... about fruit... I know once you start having bread your old cracker allowance falls away - is it the same thing with your fruit alowance? So if I have to add a new "good" fruit on the refeed program, can I still have an old fruit from the program if I want to?

Hi BFG. Great loss for day 2. Wow! I stayed away from bread for the first week, and now that I've had it I could take or leave it really. There's a half loaf in the freezer, and once that's gone I'm not going to buy any more unless there's something special I need it for.

As far as the fruit goes, if you're adding a good fruit, it doesn't have to be one of the new good fruits... you could add an apple or orange if you like. But, I do recommend pineapple or blueberries if you like them... it was so good to have something that tastes different!

For the last 10 days of refeed I sat down and worked out EXACTLY what I was going to eat, and how I was going to divide the new proteins and vegetables between meals. I bagged and froze the protein for each meal, and it's been really easy. I don't have to think about it when I get home, and start trying to do the complex calculations.

I'm DYING to see photos one day... PLEASE!

Hope Day 3 goes swimmingly!

Hey BFG ,

I am not sure of the question ...Sassy may have answered it - but if you mean do you still eat your old fruit allowance as well as adding the new fruit ... YES.

Only if it tells you to get rid of your old do you do it ... you will see where you get bread you also get crackers listed as carbs - as you get more bread the crackers drop .... fruit you just add a new .. don't minus an old.

Have a great day.

Default Superstar...

Glad to hear that the refeed is working for you and that your getting excited about food again and all the lovely options that kinda open up with the new quantities and food selections. I think I may have gotten a little carried away myself...I went out shopping with mum the other day and went to a book shop that specialises in cook books...big mistake. I spent $80 on cook books. I got some amazing ones though so I am kinda glad that I did...but I didn't need to buy 7 bloody books. Ooops. Big love...well done on the 500gms down...keep up the great work. Huggles

Refeed day 3

Weight today: 60.5kg (-0.7kg)

Good grief - I'm down 1.2kg's since starting refeed! Bloody hell! It's only day 3! But rather down than up at this stage. I'm sure I'll have some "up" days, so I'm just going to enjoy the 'down' days while they last

Last night I felt really lousy. Tired, bloated, gassy - not pretty. It was such a familiar feeling - it's how I used to feel every night pre-Cohens, except then I thought it was normal! It's GOT to be the bread! That's the only completely new thing I added yesterday! I think it's just amazing how much more I understand about my body! I am going to do the bread again today just to test out my theory for sure, then maybe give it a skip tomorrow and see if there's a difference. Exciting times!

Eden, Connie, Jeannie and Sassy for popping by! Thank you Connie and Sassy - you did answer my question - thank you. I wasn't sure if having an apple in the morning AND the pineapple in the evening was okay - but it is... so YAY! Thank you!

Have a great day!

Wow! I'm so jealous of your losses BFG! I've been going up and down like a yo-yo on refeed... I wish it was going down a bit more often.

Interesting about the bread. I've only had two slices so far, and that was last weekend when I had a tummy bug. I put feeling bloated and gassy down to being sick, but it might well have been the bread. I still have some in the freezer, so I should try it again and see what happens.

Hey farty pants!!!

Sounds like you are having fun. I think the change of having to do something different will have such a great appeal after being so "regimented" and boring.

Not long and I'll join you in the gassy stakes, then look out!!!

Cheers

Looks like we are both on day 3....I hear you on calculating and planning everything out!!! I did the same thing....kind of planning up until about day 8/10 and then was like...hmm this is really complicated, more so I think when you get to the mixing proteins bit.

We will have to compare notes and reactions!! loL!

I finally found the time to catch up with your diary over here, BFG. It's been a busy couple of days for me. I'm so pleased to see you here. That last ten days must have been really tough for you, and the bit before that as well.

I've thought that wheat products react badly with me. I don't have celiac (been tested). After reading the same reaction as you're having to bread in many other refeed diaries, I think that a large percentage of the population would probably be better off without wheat products.

Enjoy your new foods and new meals.

Once again, I'm so pleased to see you over here. You'll soon be done.

Default Hey there love...

I was just reading your post and come to think of it...I had gluten free bread last night for afternoon tea instead of wheet bread...and I'm not weak this morning...and I wasn't at all bloated last night befor bed...I think your onto something. The weakness might be a coincidence for me though as I was feeling veryt weak befor starting refeed so I have a little more experimentation to do. I have tried all sort of different bread and have found that I respond the least to rye, gluten free, and sour dough. Anywho...keep up the great work honey. I am so jealous of your losses on refeed to date...that is really quite amazing. Your a bloody superstar. Huggles
