Thumbs up Lesley's Diary

Yay! I just worked out how to do this...I think...until another wall surfaces, then I'll climb over that one...
day 3, not feeling great, headache, bit grumpy, but getting the water down - actually, warm water with a slice of lemon. Keeping busy (that's not hard - alot to do like most people! )

I'll keep in touch

great to have a forum!!

Hi Lesley

Welcome to the forum. You worked it out fine! Warm water with a slice of lemon - yum, one of my favourites, otherwise just plain old boiled water for me. I promise you will be feeling A LOT better really soon. Keeping busy is a great way to get through the first week. Coming to the forum is a great distraction too.

Stick with the plan 100% and you will be seeing the results you are hoping for.

Andrea

Hi Andrea,
thanks for your encouragement - I def. need it. Don't get alot of support at home, unfortunately, but it's always been like that So I'll just pretend I'm deaf when ever 'diet' is mentioned, and I'll be ok! I have successfully completed the program twice before - I think it's emotional issues I have. Have to nut out what the problem it, but finding time to think about it is the problem...I'll get there in the end, and I respond well to encouragement! so, you've been a big help already - thanks!!
You've done great! I have about 14kg to lose - I weighed myself Sunday before last, but had a bad week, and wasnt' game to weigh again, so I'll use that weight. I measure always, which helps me alot,

hang in there!

Lesley

Hi Violet6,

thanks for your encouragement. Good on you for coming back - though I must say, it really is the best program, and the results are amazing - that's why I come back to it - where else would you get the same results ?
Going good so far - have to keep feeding myself regular doses of motivation - been getting out my copies of the Cohens newsletters and checking out the forum - where was it when I was on maintenance the last two times? Anyway, I've found it now, so I feel think I'll do heaps better on maintenance. I feel well, even though I'm sort of looking for food. The first time round I was so motivated - my girlfriend who lives in NSW had been on it, was not far from re-feeding, and came to Melb for a convention, and we saw her - i didn't even recognize her! She was walking next to me, and I kept looking around, hearing her voice, but she'd lost so much weight, I had to do a double take everytime! Then we went shopping and she tried on a size 10 skirt...and it was TOO BIG - I thought, WHAT IS THIS DIET? TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT! Then a few weeks later we went up and stayed with them for 10 days, and I read over her program, trying to work out why it was so effective. Needless to say, before we left, I'd joined up, had my blood test, and was busting to get my own program to get started. I did it via email with her clinic in NSW - don't know if there was one in Melb at the time - and off I went. Didn't lose it as fast as my friend, which was disappointing at the time, but I lost 1kg nearly everyweek after the first two weeks, which were 3kg and 2 kg. I could not believe it was me I was looking at in the mirror, and I still remember jeans that I couldn't even get a leg into being baggy and needing a belt to keep them up. Then the fun of shopping for new clothes in spring, cos everything else was too big...so now I'm back on the path, and I've still got my lovely clothes sitting waiting for me. Not trying anything on yet, just trying to be patient...and keeping up the water.
So, that's it from me for now - have to get cracking with the housework...
have a great week!

Lesley

Hi Lesley,
Great to see you are keeping on track. You have lost over 4kg already? That is awesome and should be a great motivator for you. Well done.

Hi Andrea,
well, actually, maybe I havent' lost 4 kg - I weighed and measured myself on a Sunday, intending to start that day, but...I didn't. Then did ugly things to myself with food for the week, then thought, ok, THIS SUNDAY I'll start, then bombed out again, and Monday I thought, that's it, you start TODAY. So I did. I couldn't face the scales that morning, so I've guesstamated the start weight, but I think I'll go and change it to the first sunday's weight...probably not accurate, but maybe more so than the current weight. At the end of the day, I've lost! and I'm lighter than I was last week, and one of my skirts is a bit looser than before Yesssss

hope you have a ab fab week

Lesley

Yay, I just figured out how to change the ticker - now it's at the more correct start weight - had to weigh today (day 10) to see if my old program will/should work, and so far, looks like it is...stomach hasn't been to happy last 2 days - don't even want to eat really - haha - but I have (of course!) Looking forward to measuring on sunday (my weigh and measure day)...
have a great weekend everyone

Survived 2 temptations today - the forum has been keeping me bopping along, which has been great. Went to the market at lunch time for fruit and fish, and noticed the lolly stall....eww....eyes RIGHT - what the eye doesn't see the heart doesnt' miss (or something like that) so I pushed it out of my mind, got my kiwi fruit (which has been absolutely delish!!) checked out the fresh fish, and raced off back to work...tonight OH picked me up from the station, cos I had a late day, and we went shopping - I ate my orange at the station, and was feeling ok, but made sure I got premiums to eat before we got home...and he got lollies...and opened them (not in front of me) and left them on the dashboard...of course the first thing I spotted when we went back to the car was, you guess it, THOSE THINGS. Ewww, decisions, decisions. I thought about having one, just one, but then I thought, I won't get my mango! And then it ended up a non-issue, cos when I got in the car, they were gone, and at least he didn't eat them in front of me. Phew...
My stomach looked flatter in the shower today, looking forward to my sunday morning weigh and measure. AND I got through my water too! A good day after all

today did a peek weigh - mid week, and I've lost .9kg (since sunday) - I should be very happy, but I'm puzzled. never happened before. I usually lose 1kg a week after the first two weeks. Have been feeling peckish alot - more than the other two times on cohens. Getting my 2+ litre's of water down, but that's nothing unusual. Maybe it's the kiwi fruit...anyway, as long as it translates to the tape measure I'll be smiling!

have a great week one and all...

Didn't have a good day on Friday - looking to eat all day...then whilst reading the forum, i realized I probably forgot my multi vitamin. Had it today, and it's been heaps easier. Weigh and measure tomorrow - I was looking at myself in the shower today, and I think I look slimmer - hope it shows on the tape measure. since the first time I started Cohens in May 2004 I've kept a record of sorts (all over the place - calenders, bits of paper...) and today I put it on a spread sheet. My second program I started in March 2008. I was looking at it and was sorta depressing. I thought it was tragic that I struggle so much. I spoke to a friend today, who has done cohens before (because of my weight loss in 2004) and who struggles also, and we agreed that if we hadn't done anything about our weight, we'd probably be double the size we are now! So, it's been a good thing. I borrowed the book "the beck diet solution" from the Library on Wednesday, and have started reading it - I showed it to my friend - she was saying she's been trying to watch how thin people eat (her sis in law is one) and she eats smaller meals, and eat slowly, finishing after everyone else. So she's buying herself a smaller plate (is in a house of 3 males, all big). I think I'll ask if she'll be my diet buddy - just to let her know how I'm going - she's always good for an encouraging chat, and looks on the positive side of things.
anyway enough prattling for now,

I've got fruit to eat, then tea for the fam, and I'll eat at 7.15 - late breaky at 9.15...and I've got a litre or two of water to get down!

Lesley

woops! did it AGAIN. Thanks dropping by - just looked at your album - you look great. Good thing for me to work towards. It reminded me that I looked flat sideways before too - not so great side on, but hey, you can't have everything haha. In Paris last year I saw a woman on the metro, and I thought she looked so slim, then I realized she was a pear shape (like me) but still looked good, and then I realized that could be me...all things are possible if you try hard enough,

looking forward to my weigh and measure - have the alarm set and breakfast weighed out...watch this space

weigh and measure day today...1.5kg down - amazing, and in a week. wow. only 5 cm though...which means more to me than what I weigh. I think i have more fat than muscle now than previously - might start doing some sit ups - will help my back as well.
ok, 62kg here I come! Fat take that!

Hi NGU,

You're doing fine, and don't forget that !! 1.5Kgs is a nice loss, and so is 5cms.

Some time back we talked a bit about "Kgs vs cms" and it seemed that 1:3 was about right for most. So, with a 1.5Kg, that translates to 4.5cms. Of course, on Cohens, there are times when Kg loss doesn't happen, but cms lost DO !! So, it is not an exact science.

Just KNOW that you are doing fine, and... Rock on, Lesley,

Koh

Thanks Koh. Actually last night I got out my weight and measurements charts from the first time I did this program (this is my second program) and for the same weight my measurements were nearly exactly the same, so I felt better then. I looked at the end measurements and thought, wow, I was that small...just holding that thought!
Just a quick question - are brussel sprouts off the menu now? Not that I eat them. And with kiwi and mango, it's the flesh weight without the skin right?

thanks
