MOTHERS DAY!!!
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! To all the mothers here. Remember, we are becoming better mothers doing this programme, as we'll have more energy to spend with our children, and (at least in my case) are increasing our life expectancy! One thing I did want to touch on, with regards to mothers day, is the insane idea of the 'breakfast in bed' as cooked by children. I know, they are trying to do something special, and nothing's LESS special than a bowl of yoghurt! Please don't use the "but it's mothers day, I HAD to eat it" excuse. NOW is the time to nip that idea in the bud. Talk to your kids. Talk to your significant other. Ask them to do something OTHER than cooking a totally un-cohens breakfast for you. Remember, next year you WILL be able to eat it, just this year they'll have to be a little more creative. Enjoy your day, and remember, enjoyment isn't linked to food. hugs to all the mums. asy

Re: MOTHERS DAY!!!
Hi Asy,
My 9 year old son nearly every weekend pre cohens cooked me peanut butter and butter on toast and brings it to me in bed - I had to actually force it down I didn't want to hurt his feelings - he hadn't cooked me breakfast since I had been on cohens anyway last week he brought me up an apple that he had quartered for me - it was so precious He at 9 knows how important this diet is to me yet my friends think a little deviation won't hurt!

Re: MOTHERS DAY!!!
My darling teenagers gave me a mug shaped like a bottom wearing a G-string with the words "does my bumm look big in this?" written on it, bless them though as it was a good inspiration not to even contemplate eating the lovely Mud cake made for the mother in law, Yay another challenge met head on! hope everyone had a lovely day

Re: MOTHERS DAY!!!
Hah! Love the cup!!! That's really funny!
My kids bought me the new Kate Ceberano CD, which I was thrilled about. I just love it. She's got such a magnificent voice. And I also got a necklace and bracelet that say "No 1 Mum" in a silver heart, they're so cute!!! It was really special, especially with the court case going on at the moment, I appreciated the thought all the more. Sunday we went shopping I had a couple of gift vouchers to spend, and I wanted a dressing gown. The one I have was made by my mum when I was HUGE and pregnant with my son, so all it needs is tent pegs and a family of four could holiday quite nicely under it. Firstly we went to Katies (one gift voucher) but they didn't have dressing gowns, so I put a pair of black jeans (size 12) on hold instead (wanted to check DJ's for jeans first). There was also a really nice black and tan shirt (size 10) that I wanted, but it was $40 so it stayed there. Then we went to David Jones (second gift voucher) and looked at dressing gowns. There were some fantastic ones there, but they were around $100!!! I can't come at paying that for a dressing gown (I'm a cheapskate where clothes are concerned) even WITH a gift voucher!!! So it stayed there. I did get into a pair of size 10 jeans which were quite comfy, but $100! so they stayed there too. Then we went to Katies and picked up the $40 black jeans (paid for in part by the $20 gift voucher!). So I was still sans dressing gown. Went to Big W to look for one there. Alas, they were $40 and not as nice as they should have been for that price. We were going to go to KMart, but my daughter wanted a Boost Juice, so I sat down in the food mall, while my son ate Sushi, and she went to get her juice. She came back saying "They have dressing gowns at Crazy Clarks! So I went and had a look. They were just the same as the BigW ones, OK, maybe a few inches shorter, but that doesn't matter to me as I sit with a knee rug at night anyway, it was mainly my arms and chest that got cold. They were $9.95. That's more my speed. But at the checkout, they were 25% off! So I got my dressing gown for $7.50! Hooray! Then we came home and vegged out! It was a lovely day. And I was very warm last night. asy

Re: MOTHERS DAY!!!
Good mornin
Cute story asy. I was The cup present was cute too. My daughter & hubby got me a dozen roses and got a picture from my mom. Took my daughter to a riding lesson, then my mom took us out for lunch with the horse standing in the trailer watchin kids play at the park. Good for them to stand in a trailer tied teaches them patience......On the way home (the rest of the way) I let my daughter drive truck and tailer with her horse in it the last 2 miles to home on a gravel road. That is the small trailer,it will be awhile before I am brave enough to let her drive the gooseneck she needs more driving experience before she tackles that one and I'll need a valuim. She is in drivers ed so it is good experience for her. We at least had a pleasent day without crabbing at each other. (I am a very nervous mother passenger) when she is driving. have a good day everyone. Karen |

Re: MOTHERS DAY!!!
cute stories, the apple story nearly broke my heart, bless that boy of yours, knickers.
My kids (my son and my husband) bought me this yogurt maker, delicious, I have been enjoying yoghurt at about 1/3 of the price that it costs to buy in tubs. good stuff. We all enjoyed eggs on toast (mine was on ryvita...) with fresh fruit

Re: MOTHERS DAY!!!
Bought a yoghurt maker today in Big W, on special at less than $18.00. Will have to wait a few days to use it, I've got a little stock of Vaalia Natural in the fridge to get through. . Hubby and I are both eating yoghurt now, I tend to swing between the Vaalia and the Yoplait Low/No fat flavoured ones (post refeed) and really enjoy it either as breakfast in a smoothie or as a snack at work or in the evening. Went nuts buying up different flavours for the maker too. Works out much cheaper than buying the prepared stuff from the supermarket.

Re: MOTHERS DAY!!!
The yoghurt maker is a partial success. Made a batch last night (mango flavour) for hubby and had a wee taste this evening, very nice. the strawberry for the boys hasn't turned out so I've added more water to the larger container to see if that'll help. The Vaalia is still going strong so haven't tried any of the low fat yoghurt mix yet, should be right to go in a few days I think.
