Default Ricotta Cheese

Do we have to be careful what one we buy? I got the reduced fat one from the Deli, but I also got the smooth style one from the cold section. Are there any rules on this?? I can't seem to find it anywhere?

I got the 'Perfect Italiano' Ricotta Smooth.

The fat content is quiet high though

8.0g per 100g

Can anyone help me out on this one?

Cheers

My understanding with the cheeses is that we don't have to buy non-fat. I may be wrong on this, but I did see that somewhere else. Possibly the fat content is no so important as the quantity of cheese we have is quite small.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hello

My program says to get the reduced fat if it's available, but if not - it's not a problem to have the full fat version.

Hope this helps

Reduced fat on any of these types of products is always recommended.

Im trying to look for a clear cut answer to this one. Im not a cheese person but I would like to try the cheese recipes here and always been curious with the ricotta cheesecake.

1) Has anything changed with the cheese rules? I havent found a low fat ricotta or mozarella or feta cheese here and I have been on a lookout for about a year on several supermarkets. Is the fresh ones ok? for the packaged ones, I also dont see any low-fat versions.

2) Can you recommend low-fat brands? Maybe I just missed them out or if its from a specific country maybe it wont be available in the common supermarkets here.

Oh the reason Im asking here is that I am trying to do my old (online) program (which I think still works for me) and no longer have an access to a consultant.

Thank you

I never found low fat mozz or ricotta either, I always bought the deli ricotta, and the Devondale mozz. The cheesecake is divine! The only rules I knew of was to not have it more than 3 times a week if it affects your weight.

My sister just gave me an excellent recipe for ricotta, I made it this weekend and it's fantastic, happy to pass it on to you if you want, you could make it with low fat milk but it still has cream in it
