Day 23 Cohen Rebellion
For the first 3 weeks I found this program so easy - almost too easy. Day 23 came, a Saturday/Saturday night. Slight worry about something, hot day, husband going to see a new band at a pub. I felt like doing non-cohens things all day. Going out, eating, drinking, a favourite Thai restaurant. In the end I think I had two extra crackers and a bit of extra cauliflower and protein with my evening meal. Also a couple of glasses of diet lemonade, which I don't usually have. Today - no loss, no gain, so not too bad overall. Has anyone else had this experience of going really well and then a day when they almost want to chuck it all in? Today I am determined to be perfectly on program.

Re: Day 23 Cohen Rebellion
Hey Best Years..
I think perhaps we all at some point feel a bit that way.. I know, particularly in the beginning of my program that I quite often would sit there & dream about this food or that.. or if a stressful situation would arise I would sit there again dreaming of a glass or 5 of red or white.. the odd block of chocolate etc etc etc.. It's what you do with these thoughts that matters the most.. I applaud you for at least sticking to Cohen's food, it could have been so much worse & the problem as I see it is if we give in once it just gets easier the next time to deviate & then we get in to the hardest task of all & that's getting back on track... You KNOW you can do this.. 23 days is awesome!!!! Just a day at a time, a meal at a time if need be.. Thoughts are just thoughts.. you CAN control what you do with those thoughts .. Talk to yourself, often.. ask yourself why you want to eat this or that.. ask yourself how you'll REALLY feel if you give in.. & then be MIGHTY proud of yourself when you don't give in & you stick with it. Wishing you well.. you're stronger than you think |

Re: Day 23 Cohen Rebellion
Hey there,
I had a couple of days like that about a week or so ago. I wanted pizza and cake SO BADLY and I thought...how bad can one little screw up be if I went right back on the next day. I was going crazy for a couple of days and the last day I was almost ready to get in the car and do it. As a last ditch effort I called one of my friends who was on Cohen's. She talked me off the ledge thankfully. She reminded me of what I told her at the beginning of the diets...that I didn't want to deviate ever because if I did I would be so afraid that 1. I wouldn't be able to get right back on and 2. I would know that I had deviated once and that would possibly allow me to do it again.. Thankfully I didn't do it and the feeling passed. Well, I still would like to have it but I have no intension of doing it. I guess it happens to the best of us and we just have to be really strong and look at the goal we have set for ourselves and to see how quickly we are getting there...that will keep us on the straight and narrow...along with the help from this forum and friends. Good luck |

Re: Day 23 Cohen Rebellion
Hi Best
Yep - perfectly normal. I have had those days - best to try and make yourself too busy to be thinking about eating or drinking. Its not easy, but this is the part of the diet that will teach you the most - self control. Once you have a handle on that you can conquer anything! Good for you for not going near the "naughty" foods. Irene
