Default Why isn't Cohen's more "mainstream"????

Just wondering...how come Cohen's is not more mainstream??? My question is because obviously it works, so...how come it's not the number one weight loss program in Australia (and elsewhere?)?

Just curious...

I would imagine that if Dr. C went mainstream with heaps of advertising it would overrun his facilities as apparently he only keeps a small core of insiders with him. As he is the "keeper" of the database and doesn't want that 25 years of priceless data to get into the wrong hands, he has to keep his cards close to his chest as the saying goes. He also is probably more interested in helping people rather than becoming a multi-billionaire. It was through his work in a fertility clinic that was the impetus for his creation of the program in the first place. There are, fortunately, still people like him out there. For that I'm thankful. Pound for pound this is probably the most cost effective program on the market. But if he advertised, then back-end costs and additional clinics with additional manpower would result and costs would have to go up accordingly.

I agree with SMS. I believe that Dr Cohen looks at the data for each one of us, although I'm sure he has help in preparing all the diets. He probably likes being involved with every client. His interest seems to be in helping individuals rather than just bringing in the money.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.
What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/
Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

The Cohen program is based on internationally accepted research and sound facts, and has been available for over 25 years with over 25 000 success stories worldwide.

Dr Cohen clinics are spread over Australia and South Africa and he is currently promoting the program successfully in the United States of America.

Cohens is an Individual Program, based on international research which was started over 25 years ago in the USA, Europe and South Africa by Dr Cohen and his Research Partners. (taken from www.cohens.com.au)

Based on this info it seems as if Dr Cohen is interested in spreading his progrm world-wide - and I'm curious if the clinics are part of his personal companies or a Franchise set up?

Although it says he individually looks at each blood test result I find that hard to believe based on the number of countries his clinics are based (and the number of customers they would have) but I'm sure he has a team of very well traned staff to use the research that he applies to individual plans; and I'm sure he keeps a very close eye on everything.

Dr Cohen sees obesity as a disease - so one would hope that he will make his (and his research partners) research available one day as 25,000 successful people is a drop inthe ocean for people who would identify as obese.

Heres hoping that everyone who is on a Cohens plan will be another success story.

Actually it seems there is a lot of people out there that are aware of Cohen's. And the stuff they say to me when they ask about my weight loss is just horror stories.

To me it is the best thing since slice bread. And I say that to them. Although sliced bread is a strickly no no food perhaps I should say indoor plumbing (since that is our friend now)

I only heard about it through my mum, who has witnessed some very successful ladies and whom are maintaining weight a year after. But what decided me was this forum. The success rate in here is huge.

I think I just went way off track with my little spiel, but I think the good dr relies on word of mouth. Isn't it terrific to be part of something so powerful and so effective and something that isn't hugely commericialized such as WW.

Default Its bloody strict

The strictness probably puts people off and the fact you have to stick to it 100%. Word of mouth is all you need and if its good it spreads like wildfire. I heard from Penny and another friend heard from someone else and I have told another friend and when my nother sees me she will probably try it or not and the list goes on.
All I know is when Penny was losing so great guns I wasn't ready and when I came here I was and then when I wasn't accepted first time it was such a kick in the guts as everyone else had the secret to life and I wasn't allowed to participate and just had to roll over and die.
However I was determined to loss weight and started drinking my meals and then lost enough to go on cohens funny loss weight to loss weight successfully. Loving it

No, there's no upper weight limit to start Cohens. The biggest I've seen personally was nearly 220kg.

I would imagine (without knowing any of the specifics whatsoever and not having read Katrina's diary) that she probably had something in her blood test results that needed remedying prior to beginning the programme. I could guess at a couple of possibilities but really would hate to invade Katrina's privacy.

Chailee... It's a really good question. I do know the clinics don't spend a lot of advertising dollars to try to refrain from raising the cost of the programme. There's a price rise roughly every 12-18 months (as best as I can tell) and they really try to keep it as low as possible.

Cohens isn't worldwide, it's available in USA, SA, England and NZ via the internet clinics, and Singapore and Australia (managed through the Australian Clinics). Australia and Singapore are the only places where there are actual face-to-face clinics. In the USA it's ALL done over the internet and via email.

Default My 1st attempt Katrina

Hey, my blood sugart levels were to high. I think they were at about a 15 or 16 and I should have probably been medicated however knew you couldn't go on cohen's if a medicated diabetic.
I wasn't my weight it was my health and when my blood sugar levels dropped I was able to get on the programme.

KitKat, that is so sensible. I hope one day that Dr. Cohen does decide to publish his results and really cure obesity world wide. I think the cohenites really forget that their part of the bargain is the crucial element of these eating plans aswell. It really requires a lot of work and dedication to persevere on this.
So well done everyone!!!

Question I wondered same thing about mainstream...

I am in America and no one talks about this diet. The only celebrity to admit she used it is Leah Remini. But...she does not promote it. Obviously she looks great...so it delivered some credibilty to the program for me.

I am still curious why no more discussion in magazines, talk shows, or news programs.

I think, for example, that Oprah has her own diet she endorses with one of her regulars, Bob Green? And I do think that Dr Cohen works on word of mouth and actual results because they speak for themself.

My understanding to that question is because not anyone can do it. You need to have a blood test done before you are accepted into the program, and most mainstream diets are aimed at anyone and everyone, where this is more selective. Hope that helps.
