Default Biggest Loser 2008

I guess a lot of us will be tuning in to see "The Biggest Loser" that starts soon... any ideas on what the "Surprise" is that they have up their sleeves?.

I hope the twins do well as they are so young.. There are quite a few contestants this year that I think will do really well..

Yep - Im a fan though would never actually do that to myself.

I have done two bootcamps with my local gym and that is enough for me.. I liked pushing myself and doing it in a group makes it more fun but they push the contestants to their limits and beyond - obviously Im not going to do them whilst on the program (I did it to lose weight and also get fit - the latter happened).

Wonder if they are going to do the american thing and introduce another team?

I think this year it could be male vs female or have a male and female biggest loser

I thought that they may bring some American contestants into the program to hot things up, but then it wouldn't be Australias Biggest Loser so it can't be that..

I didn't see all of the American show so I am not sure what they did Kase.. I saw the beginning and the final where the twins did really well.. There is no way I would do it either, I just about have a heart attack watching them struggle so much.. I did a days bootcamp once with work and while it was good fun it was really quite strenuous. I was a lot younger and fitter when I did it too (back when dinasours roamed the earth).

I think they should have a male and female winner, but I guess since it is worked on the % of body fat lost it should be equal.. I guess....

When does it start? I rarely get to watch TV these days but would like to know what night and time is it on?

Photos can be a bit of a trick. In short, if you want to change a photo's size, ONLY use the corners (as they move both height and width together). If you change the size using the middle squares it can upset the height and/or width.

If you want a hand to put it right, send me a PM - happy to help,

Koh

I liked the big guy who could sing in the last episode the most.. He had a really nice face.. and I think he was a really nice warm hearted bloke.. can't think of his name off hand though..

his name is Damien and he is a great singer. i have seen him sing a couple of times when they were doing the pub and club circuit in mackay a few years ago and he was all the rage thats how i heard about him. i think they were only supposed to play a few gigs and ended up staying a month they were so popular. even then he was extremely over weight but still had the girls hanging off him. i have spoken to him before and he is just an every day bloke. jacin

I applied for the Biggest Loser, but alas did not make it. I would've missed my hubby & kids too much anyway. My liitle boy starts his first day at Prep this Tuesday & I would've missed that, soooooo glad I didn't make the cut! I'm a Cohenite now, not a Loser!

I love watching TBL and will be glued this year too! I'm hoping the "surprise" will be a team being led by Bob and Jillian. For those that didn't watch the American version last year, Jillian formed a "surprise" black team from those that did not get picked to be in either red or blue. This would definitely throw a spanner in the works for the red and blue team here in Aus.

ETA... just reading this weeks Famous Magazine and it says there will be 30 contestants entering the BL house. The show only goes for 12 weeks and 10 of those weeks would be elimination weeks. 10 people to vote off, 1 per week, 3 to vie for the title of BL08. So the rest would have to be a "surprise" team. Does anyone else think this would be the "twist"?

Hey wouldn't it be great to have a Biggest Loser - Cohen's style...no exercise whoo hoo - nah would be a bit boring watching reality tv with all us Cohenites sitting on our arses watching tv or something really slack...

Maybe they should have 2 teams - one that does the whole eat and exercise thing and the other team doing Cohen's...now wouldn't that blow Australia away? The Cohen's team would win hands down and blow all those myths of diet and exercise out of the water - oh goody maybe I can suggest that to the producers!!

I've been a bit slack with my plan and have been thinking of following it to the letter when TBL08 starts on our screens on Sunday. So for the next 12 weeks starting Sunday I will be running "head to head" with the show. Considering the majority are 110kg and over, I've got a good head start which will make up for the extra weeks they get for the finale (I hope )

It's a great idea Hexi, maybe a new thread could be started...

Hi Magenta,

WHAT A GREAT IDEA !!

Quote:

So, combine that with "PM" Hexi's thought, and there could be a BUNCH of Cohenites going "head to head" with the BL08 team. Separate thread, OF COURSE. ALL WELCOME. Hehe - love it !!!

Woohoo - compare, in real time, "exercise till you drop" with "lose weight fast, sitting on your @ss" Sounds like another "sprint" to me !!

And I'd LOVE to hear the results from all who participate vs the BL08 team. Crank it up, team - show 'em who's BOSS !!!

I've started the thread in "Personal Diaries" if anyone is interested in going "head to head" with TBL08.

Commando Steve Willis is the "surprise" trainer, and it looks like Bob and Jillian are in it too.
