Default Yogurt-home made..is it allowed??

I was wondering if anyone has any info on wether we can use yogurt that you make yourself I have a EASIYO brand maker and have made the reduced fat, unsweetened one and added my own sweetner. We have only one choice of natural yogurt in our local supermarket and its full fat. Would love to know if we can use homemade stuff ?????
Thanks Tara

I was told as long as you use 2% or less milk you will be fine.

Hi,

I've eaten low fat plain yogurt from Woolies (Yoplait, i think) and then i realised it's more than 2% fat in a 175g tub. It was so hard to find a low fat plain one. So, i'm not sure which brand/ type of yogurt can we eat and where can we get it?

Wei

Ok Girls & Boys...I too was devastated hearing about Vaalia not being allowed...UNTIL...I found 'Tamar Valley Lite Natural Yoghurt' and this morning I've died and gone to heaven!!!! It is FAR smoother and creamier than Vaalia! 1g fat per 100g. I found it at Foodland Munno Para (SA) but we don't have it at our local Gawler Foodland so I have a feeling you may have to search around a bit but trust me, its worth it!!

Have a great day everyone...love ya's all!

Oh and PS: Down ANOTHER 600g this morning....1.7kg this week with one more weigh in day I LOVE COHENS!!! (So there Goldie!!! hahaha)

Angry Vaalia Not Allowed?

This is the first i've heard about Vaalia being a Cohens No No. Can any of the Mods confirm that this is true. I love my yogurt & fruit lunches.

I have to ask the stupid question: if something is 2% fat per 100 grams, won't it still be 2% fat per 175 grams??

My Yoplait yogurt is 2%... is it a no no on the program? that would be very sad...

I made the same comment, Mette. I think it probably means no more than 2 gms per serve, so less than 1.15% per 100 gms.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Gosh guys...

WHEN IN DOUBT GO READ YOUR PROGRAMME!!!

The programme CLEARLY States

"175gm Low Fat or Fat Free only (less than 2% fat)"

Now, I know that Vaalia is under 2% fat, but the other thing is that it must be plain/natural yoghurt, which admittedly is a little more confusing and I could understand discussion/deliberation about that point, but not about the 2% thing... There's more to come on that point... Stay tuned...

I'm just about to post regarding yoghurt, could you all please check my thread once it's done (give me about 10 minutes)...

asy.
