Closure of Clinics

Today I heard that two of the Cohens Clinics.

The Tamworth Clinic and the Bribie Island clinics have both now closed. Their clients have been advised that their files are now being looked after by Booragoon Clinic in WA.

I've asked Rosemary, from the Booragoon Clinic what's happened, and this is her reply:

Sunshine Coast and Narrabri/Tamworth Clinic have been closed by Dr Cohen, they breached their contracts with him, so he closed them. There is no danger of any other clinics closing, they are all doing well and happy to assist anyone on their program.

I am assured that there is NO danger of any other clinics closing, and this has NOTHING to do with the Cohens Lifestyle Programme (as such), it's a commercial problem obviously.

Now, whilst I'm sure there will be discussion about this point on the forum, I will say the following: I will be CAREFULLY monitoring all discussion about this topic. Again, I don't particularly like censoring what people say on the forum but I will be being VERY careful that no-one on this forum makes any libellous comments about any of the parties in this matter. Please be careful what you say on the forum. I would hate the forum to get into any trouble for something someone said.

Please don't think I'm being over-sensitive, I have seen libel suits over things said on forums before.

The obvious question will be what did they do to breech the agreement ?

Were they offering other Diet programmes to their potential customers ?

I really have no idea, and in any case, I'd imagine that was commercial confidence. I think even if I DID know I wouldn't print the reason without the OK of both parties.

I think firstly the W A clinic is like Australian Headquarters - and it does not really matter as its all done on line - and there is no need to attend a clinic in reality is there - they cant stop you sticking the food in the gob !!!!

You have to be committed and the program is 99 % mental attidude anyway to succedd - so the location is not so much as long as I get the information that I need and compltee the program.

After having been contacted by several forum members with confusion regarding the closure of the clinics and information they've received, I sought clarification from Dr Cohen's representative in Australia, Rosemary at the Perth Clinic. This was her reply:

Cohen's Lifestyle Clinic (Pty Ltd) Perth would like all Cohen clients to know that the Sunshine Coast clinic (Bribie Island) and the Narrabri/Tamworth clinic have been closed. They are no longer representatives of Dr Cohen, they have no access to his Programs or Refeeding Programs, and have not had access to him since 10 March 2008. If you have any questions, you can contact us Via Email. No other clinics are closing.

If you received your programme from either of these clinics, you should have now been contacted by someone at the Perth Clinic regarding your file. If you haven't please initiate contact using the email address above.

If you have any problems, or are unsure what to do please contact me and I will help in any way I can.

I am assured that the closure of these clinics has nothing to do with any other clinic, and no other clinics are affected. ALL current clients of these clinics WILL be looked after by the Perth clinic and no-one should feel that they won't receive any assistance possible, including their refeed when they're ready.

Seems I haven't quite been blunt enough...
(sorry if I'm too blunt now, it's late and I'm VERY tired).

Guys. DO NOT... DO NOT!!! Discuss what's happened in open forum. Please. You are discussing things that are before the courts and I will be removing anything I find that refers to what's happened.

Please save me the work and DON'T DISCUSS IT!!!
