Default Detox..nausea & headaches

HI everyone....

Over the last week I've been very excited about starting the program...

And today I've started... Day one and I have a problem ...

I'm really nauseated....headachey on and off...but the nausea is the worst thing...

I have NEVER had a problem eating vegetables but tonight I couldn't get the chosen vegetables down... I had to get my hubby to get some cauliflower and I only just managed to get that down...

Here's my menu.....if it helps..I'm allowed 5 crackers a day


Water 2.3lts

Breakfast: Egg and half tmato and celery
MT : apply
lunch: 2 crackers, steak and veg
AT: 150g mango
snack: 2 crackers
dinner: steak and veg
1 cracker...


Hunger is not the problem...

Is this normal? any suggestions?

Nausea, Headache quite normal at the start I nice dark room and a good rest is good

Your body is used to feeding from the energy the sugar metabolism (sugars, starches) and since you (sorry to be mean) are quite overweight it is almost guaranteed you will also be partially or quite insulin tolerance. Now blood sugar is crashing, since you are not eating nearly as much starches or sugars and your body and brain hasn't got enough glucose in the blood as normal (or even normal people), fussy lightheaded, headaches, even nausea..signs of not enough blood sugar and your brain is not happy (as neurons MUST use sugar)!. Think of yourself as an addict going through withdrawal symptoms rather than the Diet or foods itself being the problem. Apples, Kiwi's and Mangos are excellent fruits during the diet.
After 3 days the sugar crisis should be coming to an end, as your fat will be supplying the energy needs of your body (Yahoo...a slim you is coming).

If it is really bad then talk to a clinic and visit your GP.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm definitely staying on the plans and the quicker my body comes to the party the better off I'll be...

Now that bit about me being very overweight......Ummm I'm here living Cohens.....and I'm in a size 24...

I think that would be a FAIR comment and not a mean comment *LOL*

However...in a few months it will be a redundant comment!!!! YYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY

Or try a search for "cracker" or "crackers" - as I think I recall Kristine saying some very important words re what order things need to be eaten, and that crackers help with the fresh protein for the brain (something like that). I'm not in any way qualified to answer, but there is not a lot of traffic on here at the moment, so thought I'd "leap in" to try to point you to some help...

There may even be threads where "Crackers" are in the title - they could be a good place to start reading.

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

Hi K and all,

Thanks for your sluthing. I have been here 14 weeks read all there is to read and filed away what I felt relevent at the time. I do think we all need to re read things occasionally and Kristines posts are always informative. We get so tied up in the day to day goings on that we forget the little things that really do help get us to the finish line.

All that said. Weight loss is a process and we all need to step back and take a look at where we've come from. We are all here and that's the most important thing. We have all made the decision to do this program and hopefully complete it. I am finding the quote from Kristines post very important to new and old cohens doers.

Hi Melissa,

Glad the post has helped. I agree that Kristine has MUCH to share - but what blows me away is her excellent use of words.

Her "weight-loss" post on SS was a weekly ritual for me to read - she made it all sound so worthwhile, and was always enthusiastic about her progress, yet tended to just tick away at 4 - 5 KGs per month. Then, with the link on SS to here, I found I couldn't stay away - as THIS FORUM has that same enthusiasm and good humour that Kristine has displayed, while helping the members on their challenge. May it always be thus.

From your quoted section, the following shows Kristine's humour shining through - using humour to "make a point" is a real gift.

Again K,

I couldn't agree more. I read the whole SS site just to keep up with Kristines progress as never having visited a forum before and not knowing how to work it this was my only way of following her.

I am a little better educated now and still refer to her diary with much enthusiam when I have need to find some random fix or scientific resolve to what may be the problem.

Would love to hear how you are going Kristine if you are still around.
