Why am I losing my posts (being Logged out)?

Hi all,

This has been a problem for many - the answer is HERE:-

Note Baloo's words - this problem can only be fixed at your end of things.

In short, this is what has (always) worked for me
1. I NEVER Log out when I leave for the day (I just close the window).
2. I have "Remember Me" ticked
3. My security levels are set to "Medium"

The ONLY occasion this caught me, was when I was at work, and had chosen to Log in, but DIDN'T click "Remember Me" as I didn't want to have the default of being "Logged In" on my work computer. Yep, it got me !!!

Since THAT time, I remain Logged In, and have never seen the problem since.


Edited later:- To spell it out in its entirety, if YOUR computer is NOT set up as above, then you have (now) 60 minutes to complete and post your entry. After that, you will receive a comment like "You need to Register" (or some such - I haven't seen exactly what it says, as my computer is set so that I don't have this problem). If you THINK you might have gone over 60 minutes, you might want to COPY your post (the good ol' Ctrl/C or Copy) and, if you then receive that message, simply "Reply" again, and Ctrl/V to Paste your reply...) There are ways....

But it is simpler to set YOUR computer to not have this problem ever again.... Works for me.

Maybe I need to "bump this every month".... I'm hearing "I've lost my post" once again.

With the incidence of "lost posts" going up, BUMP!!

Go to the first post to read the good stuff...

In case some still get Logged Out and lose any post they were working on....


Note - I HAVEN'T checked that this problem still exists, as I leave my computer set up so I NEVER get that problem (go back to first post to read all about it). Yes, the problem needs to be fixed at YOUR end of things.

I did check another "Lost my Post" issue though, and I found it is no longer a problem. http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7753


I posted an update, and now it sits higher than THIS one on the page, so here's my new post on this "Logout" problem to reverse that situation.
