:( what to do....after deviation
So easter.... so many weeks ago... stuffed me up and since then I have struggled everyday... I have good intentions every day and i get to lunch time and then everything goes to ****.... sorry to have a little rant.. i'm just so frustrated with myself. Cohens makes me look great feel great.. so why do i find it so hard to just do it.... it seems like everyday I go "tomorrow i'll start" and then a week passes... a month passes... I'm still standing here... I've put on 3kg..... and who knew such a little amount could make you feel like a side of a house. Sorry to have my little mini breakdown but i'm stuck |

Re: :( what to do....
I can relate, I think many of us have been where you are!
It's amazing how sometimes it's so easy and other times we just cant quite get there. I know every time I get back on track I ask myself why I didnt do it sooner. Something that helps me sometimes is if I cant follow the program quantities to at least keep my foods cohen friendly even if my hunger means I eat more. Good luck getting back on track |

Re: :( what to do....
I know exactly how you feel.... I feel like this journey has been a massive rollercoaster. I lost so much last year - but then I put on couple of Kgs and now feel huge. I have managed to get back on track now for the last 5 weeks - but its been a massive challenage and everyday is hard - so much harder than the first time round. All I can say is that its worth it everyday to see the numbers dropping and have those initial feeling you used to have

Hi cmb,
Good on you for getting back on the Bus !! I hear it is more difficult to do the "second time around".... so best you do your seatbelt up tight, fold your arms, smile, and enjoy the scenery.... Quote:

Re: :( what to do....after deviation
If you do not connect back with why you would want to get back into the program 100% then you are wasting your time, you will keep deviating. I am really afraid to deviate because I know that I may not be able to ever get back on the bus of this program, once the cravings and food comes back in my life I am a lost cause, getting through the first week of this program was a nightmare, the hunger was terrible, I don't want to go through that again. Now that I am in the zone, I don't want to take the chance of stuffing up the zone as it is almost impossible to back on the program. (look at the people that are struggling). Start writing and ask your self "what pain is the weight causing you and how it is affecting your life?" the answers should be strong enough to make you want to change, if there not then you are not ready. Most people that start this journey make their mind up that enough is enough, not another day not another minute. This program is not forever, I remind my self everyday that in a couple of months time I can eat anything again, this is a period of time I am usnig to let the HGH fix all the things I abused my body with.

Re: :( what to do....after deviation
hi cmb,
A further thought - and, I know that the title of this link below is to do with exercise, but I think it is still valid. You see, deviations will create a similar "wave" of your body levels, instead of (as Asy mentions) "keeping the levels level"... Have a look, and see if it makes sense to you. http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=324246#post324246 I think this is a TOP post (and it got lost for several years, until I found it again. Now, it is in Koh's Classics - in the thread called "IMPORTANT STUFF (that often gets lost)". Why not have a read of that whole thread - there are some absolute Classics in there - and all waiting to be "re-found" by you !! If you don't find some thoughts that sing to you, I'll ..... I'll ..... I'll go "He" !! Enjoy, Koh

Re: :( what to do....after deviation
I am on this program second time around first time was in 2005 and I lost 39kg.
I am going to stick my neck out here and say that I disagree with what you have said... this is precisely the way I thought in 2005... just hang in there... its only for a few months... I can eat anything again when I am done... and oh did I ever! Pretty soon my body was out of balance again, cravings set in and the weight started going back on! If you think its hard getting back on the bus after a deviation on the program, its nothing compared with having to get back on the bus after losing your way in maintenance. IMHO this program IS forever, there are 3 stages to the program and it is a lifestyle change and to succeed it requires a lifetime commitment. First stage is the prescription - the weight loss phase where if you stick to your prescription your body finds its balance, you get that healthy glow and feel soooo on top of the world... how long it lasts depends on how much you have to lose, how committed you are to your program and how reliably you take your "medicine". The second stage is refeed which is based on your blood test results throughout the program. Refeed reintroduces many staple foods which were not part of the prescription... its done slowly and carefully so not to shock your body... since deviations show up in your blood results and your refeed is based on your blood results ... it seems logical to me to assume that deviations will affect your refeed program. The final stage is maintenance - the guidelines are there to help keep you from putting your body out of balance and undoing all the good work you have done... yes you can treat yourself to some of the 'old' foods occasionallybut in my opinion and based on my personal experience its dangerous thinking going into maintenance with the attitude that its all finished and you can go back to eating everything you used to eat. I know for me this time... my focus is on how I will maintain instead of looking forward to going back to what I was able to eat before There is a really good post on the forums about what happens when you deviate... well worth looking at and reading!

Re: :( what to do....after deviation
I totally agree Embee with your comments. This is not my first time either. I like the way you break up the stages. My comment was in relation to 'phase one and two' not being forever, once you have done the program and re-feed you have a choice of more food and larger quantities, you can have what you want – just not everyday and in large volumes. I could see how my post to a first timer may imply that you will fixed (I wish). Most of us have been on the yo-yo string long enough know that there is no diet in the world that is going to fix us forever. Not even Dr Cohen.
