Default Wild Wendy's Dairy

My second day on the second time around and I know what to expect and are fully motivated! So way do I need a re-do? The first time around I have lost 30Kg's and felt and look great. I requested the re-feeding program, but my consultant insisted on losing another 4 or 5 kg's. This time around I will complete the re-feeding and maintenance to complete the whole circle.

I know it is going to be a long journey, but will take small steps to get there.

Welcome to both my fellow Saffers!

Wendy, are you using your old program, just for interest sake? I am also a repeater from 2012 and have been using my old program with various degrees of success - mostly excellent though.

Good luck with the new venture!

Hi Wendy, seems we had the same problem with our first go. I lost 57kg the first time around. Was 10kgs away from my target weight of 60kgs as determined by the consultant and she refused to give me the refeeding until I was 3kgs away. I got stuck at 70kg and when I just couldnt break through to the 60-69 kgs range, my marriage went to smithereens and it went just downhill after that... or should I rather say up"scale"

Anyways I wont be making the same mistakes this time around. Using my old program until I get close to refeeding and when I reach the plateau this time I will then go to a new consultant and get a new program and up exercising to get to the refeeding point. I'm very very determined.

Thank you for the warm welcome. This is my first time using this forum. Looking back I could have done much better with the assistance and advise of fellow Cohenites.

Thank you for the warm welcome - same warmth as we feel today in sunny SA. Please bear with me..as a newbe I still need to get the "hang" of blogging and posting on the dairy.

Yes I will be using my old program. It has been four years since my first program was done, but I don't want to repeat history with the consultant I have used. I will have to make alternative arrangements closer to refeeding.

Day three and still no withdrawals from the caffeine. Did not even miss our usual Tuesday drinks last night. Lucky me.

Congrats on the success you have had on the program the 1st time! You guys probably have a lot of good advice to give on what to do and what not to do.

I have a question for you guys. This is your 2nd time at doing Cohens. Do you think that doing the re-feed is a must? Have you seen others do the re-feed and keep the weight off? I am going to make sure my husband and I do the re-feed no matter what. My brother in law has just completed the program and had done it in the past but didn't do the re-feed. He gained it back and had to do it again. For some reason, he isn't doing the re-feed this time either...any advice? This is my first time on the program and I want to succeed.

Hi Audree....sorry for butting in, but yes in short, refeed is important, and whilst it gives no NO guarantee to keep weight from creeping on, it most certainly stabilises your body so that it can accept some carbs and sugar without the overreaction of a kilo or 2 overnight.

It's a pretty awesome process, but one which truly completes your Cohen's journey!!

Thanks Collie We can all do this together! I see this as a gift to myself and a science experiment to see what my body can really do when given certain foods. I will never know what the real outcome could really be if I give in to my cravings.

Dear Audree,

Yes, I do believe my gaining weight again was ALL due to the fact that I did not do the reefed and did not give my body a change to maintain and get use to other foods.

I have lost all that hard work and dedication in just a few months and gained almost all the kilo's within 8 months.

I do believe that every day comes with it's own challenges and temptations. Thanks to my daughter we only have "good" food left in our fridge and cupboards. She cleaned the whole kitchen this week-end and gave away everything containing starch and sugars. Leaving us with only proteins, veggies and some fruit. Even though I am not allowed all the foods left in the fridge, the temptation for sugary snacks are all gone.

I stayed out of the kitchen because I know what some of those "nice" sauces costs and was a bit difficult to see that it went in the "out" box. So if you are not light-hearted get into that kitchen with an out-box or two.

Hi Wendy

I totally agree, I got rid of everything. I thought what was the use of keeping it all, I was starting over in 2013, so out it all went. I really feel for people cooking for families as it must be extremely difficult to be 100% deviation free and get to the end of the program in one piece

I have planned menu's for the next 14 days and will make sure that I have all the ingredients. At least that will help with the dreadful question: 'What's for dinner?" What ever I am having for the day, I also dish-up for my family just in bigger portions. It helps a lot and save some time!

Hope you all have a wonderful week-end. Holding thumbs for the first week's weigh-in.

Hi Jessy,

Thank you for popping-in. The first time I had to spend much more time in the kitchen pre-paring two totally different menu's. Then I got stuck on having the same breakfast and lunch for four months! This time around I am planning to make it my menu's more excited and tasteful.

Also there is no harm being done to the family if they have more veggies and GOOD protein.

Hope you have a fantastic week-end.

Week 1 gone and dusted and a 3KG lost! I am happy with the lost considering that my scale's battery was flat by Wednesday and I could only replace it on Saturday. For most of the week I did the guessing game, wrong I know, but had no other choice. Spoiled myself and the family with a nice mango smoothie. Mmmmm was so great, it felt like a cheat. Going to have some mango's in the fridge for future spoiling.

Wishing all a great week.

What a beautiful day. Clear sky and the sun is shining. Feeling truly blessed.

Being an optimistic person we have bought to much fresh veggies last week. The veggies are losing it's freshness, so tonight I am making a cold soup for the family and I am going to try the cauliflower and feta soup. I have found the recipe on this forum and apparently it is delicious.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

WW

@Ciors - thanks, it is much better with a working scale!
