hello everyone
I did the Cohen's EP a 11 years ago and i lost about 30kg, a very happy slim me. Since then i have been slowly gaining the weight back, i have tried so many times to do the program again but failure after failure putting on more weight. This time i am very dedicated to seeing this through, I am tired of the sore legs in the morning and dragging myself into the bathroom to shower only to see this very large person in the mirror. I am 51 years old and when i started again a week ago i was 105 kg, not sure what i am now as my scales are playing up. I'm up for all advice as much as i can get. looking forward to seeing me again. |

Re: hello everyone
Hi DSM,
And welcome (or is it "Welcome back" - were you with us last time?). Why not fill in a Diary Request, then go start a diary. I'd be interested to know just how those 11 years went by, and how the weight came back on. e.g. Did you maintain for some time? Was there an emotional event that had you "lose it" that set you back on the path of "eating away your troubles"? Ill health? Or was it just a slow gain from when you completed Cohens until you are back here? If the latter, then it could have been just a couple of hundred gms a week (1Kg a month) that found you again, and THIS could be having an effect:- http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...654#post447654 Is that you? Or could that have been you? How soul-destroying it might be to get into Maintenance only to have one of the "tools" for keeping the weight off let you down. As I ask in that linked post - do the Maintenance Guidelines actually have words like "Don't reset without carbs for longer than 48 hours"? I can't check, as I have never done the program. Certainly, this could be one little "gotcha" that could turn your Maintenance on its head if allowed to...... Koh

Just a big happy hushpuppy I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed... And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !! |

Re: hello everyone
Hi Koh
Thankyou for reading my post and giving me that advice on the link to the thread, it is true its a three trimester. It was lifes ups and downs that made me revert back to the old ways of eating, i am emotional eater hence the weight gain. Reading diaries helps and gives insight to what people are and were going through. thanx again |
