Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
I've popped back in as I am about to go back onto Cohens. I'm not going to beat myself up, but basically I have not really followed the maintainnce guidelines, but have been careful since finishing Cohens. I put on 3kgs pretty quickly once I finished, and was happy there as I felt a bit ''fuller'', and prefer my figure to be a bit curvier than when I finished, but a further 2kg crept on over the last 14 months, and I have now put on 2kgs in the last month alone..... My husband works FIFO, and i'm not sure if it was because he was home, and I went silly, eating his cooking (He's a chef and does big portions), or maybe it was me going on the combination pill and hormones changing? Either way- there are no excuses!! I am jumping right back on board. I've heard your body chemistry changes once you're 8kgs over the refeed weight, so.....I am being quick to shed the excess weight so my chemistry doesn't change. Question is....do I go back on the proper plan, or refeed, or would following the maintainence be enough? I have been eating carbs, and the lot since finishing Cohens. I'd like to lose the whole 7kgs, so i'm thinking the proper plan would be best?

Re: Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
Hi slim.....
I'm another second time veteran......after a baby........long story but, I went all out for a new program. I knew my body chemistry had changed so I went back to square one....... Some people have no trouble with their original program so I'd try that first. You'll know if it's not working after a couple of weeks because you'll be hungry, and that's a symptom. As we tend not to feel hungry in the plan then the answer should be pretty obvious if you give it enough time. When you're affected by hunger and food deprivation then that's not really sustainable, you may have to look to going ahead with new blood tests etc etc. Anyway, good luck, it'll be an interesting experiment if you do it...........just my thoughts anyway!! Hey there Collie! Thanks for your advice and support.
I just got off the phone to my old consultant, and she said the same thing....to try my old program, and I should know within 10 days if its working for me. I'm going to start this Friday! How are you going with it this time round?

Re: Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
Well good on you Slim, great decision.
Look I'm doing great second time too, loosing at pretty much the same pace as first time, so that's cool. I have my 12 week weigh in next Tuesday and am really only doing the recommended monthly weigh in so it's been a few weeks since I've weighed but I did 12.9 for my first 8 weeks. Not the fastest in the world, but I'm not a deviater at all, and I drink all my water etc, so I know that's the fastest my body is capable of losing. And I'm happy with that. I love the program just as much as I did the first time and it's amazing to me that I'm still really on this huge journey of self discovery. I suppose I'm discovering things I missed the first time. Last time I religiously weighed daily, first thing in the morning, after I'd been to the loo and before anything went into my mouth, even 20ml of water.......I think all the way through I really did have trust issues and in the back of my mind, I never thought I'd really get to goal, but because I've done it before, I just have complete faith in the process and know that I'm getting smaller. I'll look like a right royal fool of course if I jump on the scales next week and I've only done 2kg for the month.........guess I'll have to wait until then!!! Anyway, the support round this forum is just great and it gets you through most curve balls that come your way!!!! You'll get there and the really great thing is that you haven't waited til you have much much more to lose than 7kg...... Will keep an eye out for how you're going!!! Cheers |

Re: Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
Thanks Collie!
That sounds like you're so in the zone, and focussed. I was the same on the program. I didn't deviate at all, ever. I think that's my problem, i'm such an ''all or nothing'' kind of person! That HAS to change from right now. It's funny isn't it, how there must be other things we didn't work through that first time, to be back here. I love your way of thinking. It is such a journey of self discovery. I bet when you jump on the scales, you'll be so happy I have just looked back at my weights/measurement recordings, and i've basically put on 5kgs on my hips and thighs, and 3cm on my stomach. I always knew that's where my weight went, but gees it has make me feel so gross. I went and bought myself a pair of very expensive, beautiful, leggings online, that are a size smaller than what I am now- as my goal. I can't wait to start now I wonder how long it'll take for me to lose the 7kgs......

Re: Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
What are you willing to bet????? he he, just kidding, I reckon you'll be all done and dusted in about 4 weeks, maybe 5. (Gotta be conservative, don't want to put pressure on!!!)
Are you planning on doing your refeed again?? I think the clinic would advise it, and I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere in my first refeed that it said if you had to be on the program for longer than 2 weeks to get a few kg's off, then you should do your refeed again. There could be worse things!!!! Good to see you've got some motivation with those expensive leggings...... Sass and Bide by any chance??? They do some nice ones, and they're expensive!!!! Yep, I'm in the zone....as they all call it, and yes I too am an all or nothing person....I seem to have a bit of a one track mind!!! Well, sending weight loss vibes your way.... and I look forward to seeing how you go. Go grocery shopping and get your food sorted out and ready for Friday!! Cheers |

Re: Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
YES! I was thinking 4-5 weeks aswell.....hope so! Yup, i'll definitely do refeed again, she suggested that I did when I was on the phone with her. I loved re-feed hehe, so I don't mind.
Oh ow...now you've got me thinking I should check out Sass and Bide's stuff. These leggings are Black Milk leggings. They are on facebook, but also have a website- and have some amazing designs, and the quality is supurb. I just bought the ''Cathedral leggings''. I hope that my program works for me still, I mean how do you tell if your body chemistry is the same? I feel a lot hungrier since starting this silly pill. Wish I didn't have to go on it, but I NEED NO MORE BABIES! Hehehe. Thanks for the vibes, and I guess for us ''all or nothing'' people, we certainly have stuff to learn around that. I think for me, it's about control....or rather lack there of....I can be very lazy when I have no structure! VERY! Pay day tomorrow, which is why I set Friday as my start day, so I can go shopping Thursday and have all my goodies, good to go. I dusted my scales off this morning too, and my FIFO hubby is away for another 3 weeks, so I won't be tempted by anyone elses cooking either.

Re: Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
Yes I hear you about the NO MORE BABIES PROBLEM. I'm trying to go for a more permanent solution this time, cause I realise that it'll just keep happening if we don't!!!! I mean, it's a wonderful thing to have had it so 'easy' in that department, but really, after 6, I think it's time!!!!
Hence why I went on Cohens after the 5th one......we were finished, but obviously fate, or God had another plan for us, whichever way you look at it. So, there I was with a beautiful new baby 4 months ago and unfortunately almost back at square 1. And so, the long road to Cohen's then began.......again!!! Those Black Rats tights/leggings Sass and Bide did a couple of years ago were great, but I'm not sure they did them this year.......I'd been too pregnant to investigate. |

Re: Argh. 15 months on, 7 kgs up!
Wow! 6 kids, you must be a super Mum! Yes. We are easily pregnant here too, and would love hubby to go for something more permanent hehe, but he won't. So, for now....the horrible pill it is. I can't believe I put on 2kgs in not even a month from it. Oh well.....tomorrow I begin again on Cohens and OFF it shall come.
Just going through recipe ideas and getting myself prepped for shopping first thing tomorrow. Think i'll have a boiled egg and cucumber for breaky.
