Default The "zone"

How long does it take to get into it, and how will I know? What does it feel like?

difficult to realise you are in it. It's not like a light being switched on.

"The Zone" isn't anything magical really. You just find that your meals fill you up and you no longer feel hungry. You're generally in good spirits and feel full of energy. Weight also tends to fall off and/or inches decrease.

You're in a happy place. That's the easiest way I can describe it.

Without trying to be funny, I think the best indicator of when you are in the zone is when your libido shoots through the roof....

But seriously, don't start waiting and wondering and stressing that you haven't reached some "zone". You have enough to concentrate on with the programme without added reasons to start feeling down or stressed out.

So true Baloo

From my experience it happens somewhere after the first week of 100% - there is a feeling of wellbeing, clarity in the mind, energy high, positivity and a 'what the ....'??? this is too easy feeling....a little scary!

Too true - just be in each momment. Enjoy the journey - even when it feels crappy and don't give your head too much power. Better not to question too much and project into future - or reminisce on past. Just be in the process.

My understanding is that the zone is a sort of shorthand for that feeling of wellbeing that comes and probably feels a bit different for everyone. Also, for me there was a feeling of peace in my body - the war was over.

Enjoy the journey,
Shanara

One obvious sign of being in the zone - you start using your cardigan or sweater more often than usual....feel cold very easily. It was a strange reaction for me because I was always the one complaining about being too warm.

I agree with the cold one!

Otherwise for me, the last few days I am full at lunchtime (120g is a LOT of salad). Also, I don't get sleepy in the afternoon, and I have a bit of a reputation for napping around 3pm.

Now...waiting for the libido to kick in

Wondered why I was feeling a bit cold? I've used it as a reason to "go to bed early" nudge nudge.
The zone for me also means not having had to take medication for headaches in almost 5 weeks. I get (GOT) headaches 3-4 times a week and often woke at night with them coming on. Only strong medication would eleviate them. Pleasantly surprised to see the hot sweats are tapering off too. In in all, there is a feeling of contentment and I'm not hungry.

Ahhh, now l know what the zone is!!! Talking to my consultant the other day, telling her how l got on through the silly season without any trouble, that the food that was around was just food and l was totally happy with what l was eating and not feeling hungry at all. Her reaction was "WOW YOU ARE IN THE ZONE!"
Being in the zone is great!

I think I must be in it. I keep feeling very energetic and wanting to get on with things. On Friday I moved furniture between rooms, sorted alphabetised about 400 CDs and sorted hundreds of DVDs. And I keep looking around and wanting to GET Things sorted.

Feeling very content/optimistic, and having to consciously drink the water rather than drinking it to fill me up.

As for libido..........MYOB!

Mmmm, if I extrapolated your quote a little further, and added a bit of "outside the square thinking", I might conclude that FYM should be renamed to YM

Funnily enough my son said "Yummy Mummy" to me yesterday. But as he was eating dinner at the time, I think it was "Yummy, Mummy"!

And today he told me that I should be the Fat Controller when we played trains as I have a big tummy.

Kids, eh.

I am definitely in the Zone. Now I know why I keep thinking how easy Cohens is

Need to start mixing up my meals a bit though - they are getting a bit "same same" and I think that is a risk factor...
