Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hi all (anyone)
Just wondering if anyone is currently on plan for a second (or more) go after previously getting to goal? Even if there are some posters out there that have managed to maintain OK, it would be good to hear from you too! |

Hi there! I’m doing my program again after having kids. When I finished plan originally I put on 9kg fairly quickly after refeed however this was due to going back to old behaviours. I stopped my ‘binge’ eating and then maintained that weight (9kg above goal) for over 2 years. I was pretty happy with that!
Here I am after 2 babies and have 4kg until I’m back at the 9kg above goal stage! I’d like to continue and do refeed again and hopefully sit around and maintain my goal weight. Hope that helps ☺️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hi, this is my second time on cohens. The first time was 10 yers ago, I had 16kg to lose and hit my goal. I stupidly didn’t do refeeding, just went straight back to how I was eating an donfcourse gained it back and much more. I started for a second time 3 weeks ago, starting wiright of 101.6, goal weight of 60-62, and have lost 6.7kg so far. Maintenance is definitely more difficult than losing weigh...

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hi Tess and Stella!
Thanks for your reply! I'm so glad to hear Cohen's is going well for you both...it gives me the encouragement to stick at this for a second go! I have been totally slack and not putting myself first. I left my job to go back to uni and get a degree. I've been raising my kids while I study and I've kind of let myself go because I've always either had study to do or kids to look after. Now I'm coming into the home stretch of my degree and my kids are older I have some time to myself to take care of me again! Looking forward to feeling vibrant and accomplished having achieved my degree, and back at goal too!!! Thanks for your replies to my message...I really appreciate hearing your experience with Cohen's second time around. Xxx |

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hey svelte_kiwi, tess840 and Stella
I have just finished my second Official Cohen's Programme but have also done the whole shebang twice as well, a Grand Total of Four Cohen's Programmes! I held the 2006 Goal Weight for two years, then there was the Global Financial Crisis and a Family Crisis, adding 15 kilos which was actually quite easy to lose once the situation had eased somewhat, and the weight held steady until I stopped smoking in March 2011, after which I put on 10 kilo in two months, peaking at 15 kilos, lost that but didn't quite get back to Goal Weight and it was not stable. During 2016 I paid a lot of money for various books and programmes and even a Dietitian (following whose advice I put on another 5 kilos), and enrolled for Cohen's 2017 in January and completed the weight loss by end of June. In my experience, I actually understand it all a bit better now, how my body reacts to various foods and particularly to the amount of water I drink each day Dehydration is insidious: We don't even notice yet our bodies become thirsty and go into preservation mode Good luck with your journey this time around, make sure you do it all the way through and particularly the Refeed, I think Refeed is the key to it all! Lotsa love Kristine |
Awesome post - Thank You from :- | ||

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hi Kristine,
Thank you for your reply!!😊 I'm such an emotional eater, I think I only maintained for about a year. When stress hits me I don't talk to anyone or exercise I tend to internalize my feelings and hit the cupboards 😢 I can't afford a new plan so fingers crossed I can still lose albeit even if it is at a slower rate. I don't mind, just so looking forward to being smaller by graduation. And yes I totally agree, taking time going through refeed is so important and then taking baby steps during maintenance. I think I just went a bit crazy straight away!! Haha, but I feel a bit more patient this time around xxx |

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hi Kristine.
What wonderful advice. I have done the Cohen's plan twice. Last year in January for 3 months wherein I lost around 15 kgs ending at around 53.5 kgs, and then fell pregnant unexpectedly with my 4th. I'm now back on the plan, completing my 8th week. I've started at approximately 67.7 kgs. Last weigh in this morning was 59.4 kgs. Weight losses have become somewhat slower in the last few weeks and also frustrating. I've decided this week to cut out the cheeses and to mix my meals. Hoping for some better results. My goal is around 51 - 53 kgs. What guidelines were you generally using to maintain your weight when you were holding steady and what made that change.... |

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
I am also on second round of second round so to speak. Got a new plan this year as it was needed, body chemistry out of whack, never did refeed etc etc. I got down to about 70kg then got sick & lost head space for a while. Back on it now though.
So, all the best, it can be done Jen Last edited by Kohinoor; 03-12-2017 at 15:27. |

Hi findingme,
I just wanted to let you know that I made the initial correction and removed your followup post. I wanted to let you know that whenever you post afresh, you are able to Edit it for (I think) 24 hours. After that, a Mod can do it for you. Koh

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hello all!
Sorry for a notable absence! I have been away for a holiday and then promptly fell bed ridden when I got back home All I felt like was chicken noodle soup and dry toast. Not particularly Cohens friendly! However, I am slowly coming right, my stomach still not 100% and I'm not feeling like meat or eggs at the moment. Had some cheese with crackers this afternoon and my fruit at afternoon tea but not really 100%. I have decided I am going to sort myself out tomorrow (tomorrow is pay day so I have to do the weekly shop including the Christmas day fare)...but I feel good about Christmas this year. We are hosting breakfast, and then out for Christmas dinner which is just going to be a bbq and salad type thing and I'll skip the desserts. Back on track 100% after all the chaos of recent times is just what my body needs! Anyway...hi to anyone else that is OP for Christmas too! xx |

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
I hit my goals about 9 years ago, I felt great and promised myself never to return to the weight that had prompted me to get on the Cohen program in the first place. I broke that promise.
In fact, I've surpassed that original weight. I feel terrible, guilty and my self esteem has collapsed. I've tried to get back on the bus a couple of times, but was just not mentally prepared. Today, I go again, for real. I think that it failed second/third times because I didn't make it a focus in my life like I did first time around. I didn't bother to weigh everything, so small margins became bigger margins.... I didn't come here for support, big mistake! So here I am, hello to anyone who remembers me! Koh, Conniek, Sunday Morning Staple (who got me into this way back then) - good to see some familiar names from the past, and hello to everyone else on this wonderful journey. I promise to come here often to give and receive support, to stick to the program religiously and without deviation and to make this the focus in my life again, and to stay here when I'm done so that I don't get myself into trouble again. That's a lot of promises, but I'm ready.

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Hi Imfef,
I sure do remember you. You seem to have done well for a number of years, and you also appear to have a handle on "what went wrong" and even "what needs to happen to come right again". On the Cohens side, there have been some learnings made in here too - lots of good stuff is locked within a bunch of diaries, but where I notice them, I tend to bring them into the light of day somehow :- http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9170 It appears that the "reset" that maintainers know and love has been failing some people. The key appears to be "Don't do a full Reset for any more than 48 hours" or you risk gaining weight again (who knew that?). Imfef, I linked you to the start of the "Important things that often get lost" topic that I started a heap of years ago. The first post gives an Index of all of the topics within it, and the Post # to go to - for the above "Reset problem", go to post #27 and check out the link in there. And hey, welcome back - do stick around and share your knowledge with the new ones (and returning old ones) as they face their fears and build their excitement once more. Koh

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
Thanks Koh, these links are wonderful - what an amazing job you've done to pull all this together! Will definitely start to go through these to sharpen my skills once more. ''
I would like to start a diary again (one I get the approval)- I found it so useful first time around for many reasons not least the wonderful support from fellow cohenites! I re-read my entire diary and refeed diary last night to remind myself of my journey and was humbled with the supportive messages - it played a huge part in my success. I will also give as much support as I can, but there doesn't seem to be so many on the program 9 years on. First day results tomorrow But don't worry, I'm not going to put you all through the ups and downs of my daily weighing again! Well at least not after the first two weeks Cheers, Marc |

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10385 The Diary Request thing worked well back in the day, and it prevented Asy from having to start each diary herself. Today, we get you to start your own, and (maybe) your Diary will be approved and moved to Personal Diaries - but with so few with us today, it all seems a bit academic really. So, start and love your "New Diary" and then graduate to a Refeed Diary later on. And yeah, keep on with daily weighing if that works for you. I'd like to see it charted too - to see if yours is also a "straight line" despite weeks without loss, etc. It's interesting how it works (go see here - http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...165#post168165 ) Once at that link, click on the thumbnail to open it, then look at how often AJ had a "no loss week" - and yet, standing back, the loss line looks straight !!! Heartening really !! Koh

Re: Cohen's Programme 2.0
I am on my third go. I got a new program for the second go but because I’m over 65 now I supposedly can’t get another program. Old program is working fine even if I am over 65!lol.
