Default Stopping caffeine intake before refeed.

Hi all,

Just been reading up on the handout from the clinic and they mention not having any caffeine to check if you are really ready for refeed. This is a fabulous feature in my Cohens lifestyle and I am not really ready to give it up (when I am closer). My question is, did anyone find it made a difference to their level of hunger at refeed?

mmm...not sure Volte - my Cohens notes/clinic never mentioned anything about stopping caffeine... I'm interested though - how is it meant to tell you whether you're ready for refeed?

Could make a guess
caffeine is a stimulant and could well increase hunger/appetite
therefore not useing it could give a picture of the body
however, if you are a big caffeine user and you just stop chances are you will feel like sht and go through withdrawal which could mean that the cure is worse than the disease
my personal thoughts anyway

I think you may be right Mark - I was interested to see it on my notes and thought if it was really of benefit then I could start forward planning now and cut the amount that I drink. I may do that anyway and then when I get closer to goal I can cut caffeine out altogether. It may also be why I have recently been feeling a bit of hunger as I have been drinking more coffee as it is nice and warm!

That's not on my notes either, but interesting. I'm drinking more caffeine than I have been as I'm marking exam papers and struggling to concentrate. And I've been getting pretty hungry. I'll try to mix in some decaff and see what happens!
