Has anyone done Cohen's for a 3rd time?
Wow it is so nice to see that the forum hasn't changed over the years I have done Cohen's twice before (1st time very successful, 2nd only for about 4-6 weeks). The first time I finished re-feed and just went crazy and the 2nd time didn't reach reefed. Needless to say I have gained the weight back (and some more). My questions is, has anyone done Cohen's for 3rd time?! I know the programs works, but for me it is about control/understanding after the program. Also, am I am allowed to ask the cost of the program now? It has been a number of years since I got one so I am assuming the price has gone up. Thanks everyone xx |

Re: Has anyone done Cohen's for a 3rd time?
Hi Kate and welcome back
I'm pretty sure if you take a look around some of the older diaries (and even some of the maintenance ones) you will find some of the posters do Cohen's multiple times. Sometimes due to general weight gain in maintenance, sometimes after a new addition to their family. Personally, I am currently on OP for a third time but for different reasons to what I think you are asking about. I'm still posting anyway because I notice it has been a bit quiet around here, and I didn't want your question just floating around unanswered! I did Cohen's first time in 2006, but apparently still had some lessons to learn as I gained the weight back after a hormonal upset while living overseas, so I did it for a second time in 2011. For me, the second time was more successful than the first. I have pulled out my program for a third time as a tune up, because these days I monitor my weight regularly and over the last 9months I have been watching a general increase in my baseline numbers, not a large one, but an upward trend that is not shifting with sensible daily eating. I intend to stay on top of things this time! So when I say I am doing a tune up, technically I am following OP to the letter for a third time, but I only intend to be on OP for two weeks, although, I will do refeed again. I can't comment on the cost of a program, as I am still using my original one (luckily enough it still works for me- this is not the case for everyone), but I believe the prices might be different depending on where you live? Have you tried using your original program this time around? If you can get away with it (i.e. still able to lose weight and not crazy hungry after the first couple of days) you might be able to put that money to better use -- I'm thinking you'll be needing a new wardrobe of clothes!

Re: Has anyone done Cohen's for a 3rd time?
Hello Kate
I'm (hopefully) on Cohens for the third time. The second time, I used my previous programme and it worked fine. I'm doing so again this time. Is that helpful? Since I've been on and off in round three, I find that around the third day, my tummy goes flat and is not so bloated and I feel lighter. Perhaps plan is still working. cheers |

Re: Has anyone done Cohen's for a 3rd time?
Hi.. I did Cohens for the first time back in 2000, lost a lot of weight 35kgs.
Ive put it all back on, because I didn't watch what I was eating. I tried doing Cohens again with my first program, it worked a little but I felt I wasn't losing weight at the optimum rate. A friend at work said I had put a lot of weight on since I first started working there 10 years ago which made me realise how bad I got.. its funny how you never seem to feel how big you actually are until you see a picture of yourself or someone is brave enough to say something, which I found was the best advice. So I decided to get a new program. The program cost me $750 but I think it is an investment well worth it, as I tried a lot of the other diets which didn't work.. if I had brought this one sooner I wouldn't have wasted all that money. I now am 14kgs lighter feel great, more so when people are saying wow !! you are looking great. I am so much happier but my clothes are getting very loose and soon have to buy some more. I really wish you all the best and you are never alone on your journey. Jackie |

Re: Has anyone done Cohen's for a 3rd time?
Hi Jaccari
I would suggest that you keep that friend. I actually had a conversation with my friend the other day and said please promise me you will tell me when I put weight on I cannot go through this again. Funny though my mom is always the first person to tell me I am putting on weight and I dont take it from her I get so angry with her rather than taking it honestly as a helpful comment to keep me on track while its still doable rather than criticism. Well done for coming back to what you know will work - wishing yo much luck - you can do this. |
