I couldn't walk past THIS one tonight - yep, it's Sean again (Kiwinui) and he has JUST started on Maintenance after finishing his Plan and Refeed. And, what did he say that got my attention?

THIS :-
Quote:
Well according to the website realage.com I have increased my life expectancy by six years by removing 38 kg of fat. That's an extra year of life for every month I was on the programme. If this time was a financial investment thats a return of 1100%. Who wouldn't invest in that?
What a message for those "thinking" of whether "to do, or not to do Cohens". Applies to those already DOING it, too - did you realise just HOW MUCH good this program does for you? And in ways you might not have considered.

And hey, there was SO much more - go to the link below to see a whole bathtub full of gems (Don't mind me, but I once heard $1billion dollars described as "A bathtub full of diamonds...")

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=250955&postcount=1

You said it well, Sean - REALLY well,

Koh

Koh, I discovered this thread when you redirected someone in their diary here. Besides being amazed by your memory of what was written years ago, this thread truly is a gem! Thanks!

Hi Littlemiss,

Hey, thanks for the appreciation.

I've been so slack with it recently (spending more time with the "Classics" forum.... but three months, Koh? ) while new "gems" come and go.

So, let's add a few more ..... and YOU, smart young lass that you are, have provided some yourself just in the last couple of days. Since some of those words of yours are "timeless", it'll be good for future readers to find them again in here.

Everyone, if these words below pique your interest, click on the link following to get the whole story (there's lots more to it) :-

Further down in that thread, Littlemiss shares an epiphany re humble old salt (a bit more than usual seeming to "lift her day") - so don't stop reading at that one post..... Much learning going on for this young lady - and she shares it so well too.

You're a wee gem, LM

haha! Thanks for this, Koh! You made my day.

This year, I've decided to focus on improving my fitness (by losing excess weight, and eating healthy), and also improving my spiritual well-being. I spent last year too much in self-pity, and feeling like a 'victim' but am learning now that only I can make myself feel that way - no one else. Never bothered with self-help books, or spiritual books till now.

I'm still on my journey but it feels good to be on it!

Default A gem specially for new members, or those "considering"....

Pen came up with another gem - specially for those "wondering if Cohens is as good as it sounds".... This gem (like most) was formed from heat and high pressure - here's Penny (Ropemaha) :-
Quote:
i just wanted to add to anyone who may be considering doing cohens, that this program is truly amazing...
You're going to have to work to read the rest though - click this link
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=262830#post262830

Onya Pen - just keep on doing it for you, girl. Such a coup when you can succeed, even with "life" getting in the way so much

Hugs,

Koh

I just love it when Gems I missed earlier are "found" - here's one I found (or re-found) tonight :-
Quote:
when I decided to do Cohens I made the decision to just follow the programme and see if it worked. I thought if it did - wonderful. If it didn't then I would keep on my search for what was right for my body.

I was ecstatic when it worked for me - and spectacularly - beyond my wildest dreams! I would like to encourage people to just do the programme and stop trying to question everything. If it works for you also - wonderful. If not then that is the time to question.

I also decided to put on hold everything I thought I knew about nutrition and just allow that maybe there was another way - different from what many others advocate.
Isn't THAT the truth? All of it? Go on, read it again

Shanara, that post is a gem for sure. I'm not sure how/when I missed it earlier, but then, I've been MIA now and then. I'm just SO glad it was brought to my attention tonight, so that it could be shared !!

How well said was this :-
Quote:
I find it interesting that you can do all these things to help yourself, but until your subconsious is ready to let it go, all the effort is but a stepping stone to that ultimate goal. So it is definitely not a waste of time if it appears it is not working, it is but a building block to help you get to your final destination!

I love the simplicity of the words, and, at the same time, the POWER of the message !! Posted by one who has lived the "subconscious fight" situation, learned a lot, and is putting the finishing touches to her walk. At the moment, it almost seems like she is running !!

Onya Vee (thenewVee) - seems like that learning time has been well spent

Found a great one today to "follow on" from the last gem. This one is from mcpsych - and I'd think is "required reading" for all who face this journey :-

Makes a lot of sense to me.... Onya Mark !!

I couldn't overlook this one - the joy, wonder, good wishes to all - it's all there. And, of course, the results (they are out there waiting for all) :-

The health benefits for me to this point are obviously the weight loss but in addition to that. No breathlessness as I walk up cardiac hill to work is: less fat around the arteries. Reduction in blood pressure. Resting pulse reduced from high 80's/90's to now high 60's / 70's. Heart is not having to work as hard. Awesome. I feel alive, excited and ever so grateful to have discovered Cohens.
My measurements have reduced a total of 86.5cm. My waist going from an unhealthy 101 cm to now 75.5cm. Awesome.

Come and visit me in refeed land. This soon will be your walk if you stay committed to You and what you say you want. I want to leave you with the words of the great Winston Churchill

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal
it is the courage to continue that counts!"

How good is that?? Deelight has walked strongly and well - and now she's done it, and wishing the same for all !!

And hey, I choose to accentuate that oh-so-significant comment from a great statesman..... mainly because it is SO important !!

It is the courage to continue that counts !!

How often do we SEE that on here? Maybe not in those WORDS, but in the actions of so many !! Check out a bunch of diaries and see for yourself.... Narelle is one of many.....

To read ALL of what Narelle (Deelight) wrote - go here :-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=285214#post285214

And hey, if you are wondering if this can work for you, consider it works for those with courage.

Asy says "It'll work for you - if you want it badly enough!" Could it be that "wanting it badly enough" actually LEADS to courage ?? If so, how nice is that !!

Koh

A gem from one who is closing in on "the finish".... Ladybird sang to me today with this comment:-

Quote:
I continue to be amazed(in awe really)

I am eating everything on my refeed plan, because as mentioned, I want to see what my limits are and also, re-train myself that it is "ok" to eat - sensibly of course - in maintenance. I was not a big eater BC (before Cohen's) but was obviously doing an awful lot of stuff not good for me.

To read the whole post/thread (for context), go here -
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=289914#post289914

This is a lady who is "going for it" - and succeeding beyond her wildest dreams !! (I really can't talk for her - but hey, you know me I'll have a go anyway)

Enjoy the possibilities.... Onya, LB,

Koh

Caro (C-Jaye) sang to me today. All about "head stuff", and what you can do to ease your path. It was nothing complex, but, even in its simplicity, seemed so sage I had to post it here for others.

Caro started by saying "Read your diary" !! She was looking back at her earlier words like "How will I feel once I reach xxx weight?" But now, she's there, and is able to answer her own questions, and to add some great advice/thoughts for those who follow :-

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=292888#post292888

Love your sense of humour too, wee girl - keep on developing that "princess complex" (can't be bad for a girl can it?)

Rock on Caro, you little gem !!

Tonight saw a beautiful post from DC (DaisyChain) - the brand new, slimmer DC - a bit to go yet, but I reckon I'm betting on a winner here.... Size 12 leads to Size 10, maybe even an 8.

But size is not so important right now - the words are ....

It's a letter from her to the earlier DC - and it is lovely !! Go on, read it - you won't be sorry....

Love your work, DC,
