New Forums

We've just completed a tidy up of the forums. Most forums are still there though they might be in a different order.

Diaries are now split into their own category.

We've created a new category called "New You FOrum Support Boards" for the forums, like Recipes, that help you along the journey.

We've also introduced Country based forums with The Philippines and South Africa forums being the first. These are designed to allow members from the same country to ask questions and share information that is particular to that country. We also permit local languages in these forums if applicable. If any other country would like their own forum, please let us know.

As always, if you see something strange or have a question about the changes, ask away.

Just a quick update on the Country based forums. Posts in these forums are now excluded from appearing in a "New Posts" search.

"New Posts" is one of the most used searches we have so to minimise the shock and confusion of seeing Afrikaans or Tagalog in a post, we've taken them out of the search results.

Again, let me know if there are any other location based boards people would like. I am looking to see if I can add a script to convert the letter 'i' to 'u' so we can open a self-translating New Zealand forum

Thanks Baloo, that's great, I accidentally replied to one I'm not sure I should have that was one of the other countries forum. It was in English, but not sure if i was supposed to go there or not!!!!!

Every forum is open to everyone so there is no danger in replying to any thread you like. If they are in English then fire away. I'm sure everyone is welcome. (Actually, if we ever felt that a country based forum was trying to deliberately exclude other members from posting in there (on topic of course), we'd probably make a decision to close down the forum.)

That's only fair!

We only have a local blog that is very user unfriendly with loads of spam and (used to) have a nice following of Afrikaans followers. Over the last few weeks these followers also disappeared and I am trying to lure them back here. When we chat in Afrikaans we are not trying to be disrespectful to any other members, but we are mostly a shy bunch and feel more confident in speaking our mother tongue.

Also, I've heard that in certain towns in Australia and New Zealand, you have more change of hearing the lingo than in Durban (home of the Sharks!) - so it will be awesome to connect with some of them

Yeah, no worries at all with using local languages in these forums. It's what they are for as well as asking questions about local issues on Cohens. For example, if I was travelling to Capetown or Manilla, I'd be in these forums in a flash trying to get as much information from the locals as I could.

Oh, talk of Rugby when Australia is not doing well may result in the SA Forum being suspended for the duration of the 4 Nations.

You actually replied to my post.. which was a wonderful accident by the way as I love reading your posts...
