Not dropping a dress size......
My problem is this: went to shop for a dress for a function, I was a size 42 and was hoping I would have dropped a dress size but it doesn't look that way. I tried on a size 40 dress and it fit well on my upper body but couldn't move past my hips!!!!! How many kg's do I have to lose to drop a size???? Atleast 1 dress size???? Too much to ask???/ When did you see the difference???? I am a bit discouraged at the moment.....but I am not about to give up....just disappointed.. Please help!!!! |

Re: Not dropping a dress size......
Go to a different clothing store. I have jeans in size 29-30-31-and 32. It depends on different styles, cuts and manufacturers. Don't get hung up on the tag, as long as it looks nice that is what is important. Unles it is a size 2 and it fits and it only costs a couple bucks buy it just for the number in the tag even if it is a hideous piece of clothing.

I agree with Carrieanne I have also always found dressier clothes to be smaller sized, so that could also be what happened.

Re: Not dropping a dress size......
Hi Slender,
In the larger sizes, it takes a while - but, once into the normal range, it is usually around 6Kgs per Size - give or take (and making allowance for different manufacturers, and "vanity sizing"). Since you are now under 100, that "normal range" is getting close. Once you hit the first size (over here, it's size 18 - for you it might be a 38????) and then leave it, the sizes will race on down for you. I agree with the girls - buy what looks good, and don't get caught up on a number. Hang in there Koh

Re: Not dropping a dress size......
Unfortunately until they decide to make sizes universal people of all shapes and sizes will continue to face this problem. Even my poor mum does, who is a size 8. Please keep going - you are fabulous : )
