Question Tofu???

I was just wondering....
I didn't ask for Tofu in my diet plan. So can I still use it as a protein?

If anyone has Tofu on their list of proteins can you tell me your protein/veg. combination weights?

Hey - From what I understand - it is best to stick to the prescribed plan you were given - or otherwise just contact your clinic to see whether they are able to get a tofu option added in for you

Like for mine, my meal 3 choices are either: tofu, seafood or seafood - so I asked my clinic and they spoke with the powers that be and sometimes if I am well and truly over tofu or seafood I could have some chicken instead

If you didn't select the tofu option the sorry, you're not allowed it while on plan. That's apparently the rules.

We're also not allowed to share our allowances, it's part of the forum rules, so I don't think you'll get any answers here.

Remember the rule that'll be somewhere on your plan, if it's not in your program, you're not allowed to eat it!!

Collie, I'm sorry about sharing my allowances in my post. I think I'd better go and read the rules! When I get a new gadget I never read the instructions first, I always just learn as I go.

Thanks Jessicamo, did you really mean your choices are tofu, seafood and seafood? LOL

After I posted this I found other Threads about Tofu and they all said if you didn't tick the box, then it's not on your list! So I'll just have to go without.

Doesn't bother me Michelle, don't want to see you get in trouble with the powers that be sweetie!!!!!

A bit sad about the tofu hey, I didn't take it as an option first time round and kind of regretted it, so when I went back for take 2, then I ticked the box and got it added. I did find while on plan that I ate it quite regularly, it's quick, cheap and very easy to make up. It stores well in the fridge, and it's fairly portable when you're out. Maybe it'll have to be a maintenance one for you!!!???

I am using my old plan and from what I'm reading on this forum some of my foods may be excluded now (like brussel sprouts) and perhaps I'd be better off with a plan that suits the me today than the me of last time.
Last time I did the program I ate more meat than I do today. Putting on weight wasn't because I didn't eat healthy meals - it's because of all the bad stuff I ate as well!
So I think I'll avoid tofu for a while but if I'm not getting good weight loss I'll have to sign up again and get a current plan.

I ticked tofu (as I'm allergic to egg) and was given it as a M3 option...but as Collie says, it, along with everything else on our plan is weighted for our body alone, hence we don't share quantities....but we all make mistakes MB, and we'll always crroect you kindly xxx. I have enjoyed it on ocassions, but not as much as I enjoy my meats

Well Bee I reckon that must be a mistake then, because my clinic told me that if I ticked it and it didn't come with a tofu meal then to let them know ASAP........that's not fair really is it??? Never realised that tofu could cause such controversy!!!!!

Yeah I have tofu, seafood or seafood for M3 - felt a bit cheated at the time but find I have M3 for lunch - so prawns, squid or tuna normally and then meat or chicken for dinner!

How does that work?!! So it's not like a request to have it in your plan, it's only included if it suits your body/chemistry I guess.

I ticked the box second time and didn't get it! Told my clinic when we went through the plan - I had assumed dr c didnt want me to have it! I was okay with that, but consultant checked and it was an error so had it added and that week I got a new page put into my plan!

Like collie I do enjoy it because its cheap, good on the go for weekends etc, fast to cook and I cut it up nice and thin in slices so it feels like I get LOTS on my allowance.

It's only M3, and my consultant actually said its generally only ever once a day on the plan and it always M3
