Default Starting Cohen in August but can't wait no more!

Hello Everybody,

Introducing myself:
I am a female, 36 years old, size 9-10 shoe size, Height 162 cm (5'3.5ft), weigth is 71kg and my goal weight is 56 kg. My BMI is about 36.

I am on maternity leave untill the end of August and will be starting the program when i go back to work (basically when i can afford Cohen). I have been lurking Cohen's website(s) for a while now. Westerday i decided that i was going to START being healthy no matter what--so i did!
9.a.m. 2 water
11 a.m.This morning i had 2 eggs with cheddard cheese and 4 crackers. 1 water
3 p.m. 1 black decaff coffee. 1 diet coke. 2 water
7 p.m. Stir fry chicken (without oil) with bean prouts and green peppers. 2 water
9 p.m. Plain non-fat Yogourt with half a peach (peach in sirup-next time will buy fresh).
diet coke, 1 water
so far 8 glass of water (will try 2 more before going to bed).
Will also have a minth tea around 11 p.m.
I was a bit dizzy today (late afternoon and after dinner)??

Obviously this is NOT the Cohen's plan but i just could not wait any longer to start loosing weight and feal better. Since the birth of my daughter i lost 30 kg (breastfeeding was a big help). I now have this extra weight and I also want to lower my BP.

I wanted to post my pre-cohen effort anyways, i think this will help to comit to the real thing.
Thanks to all that inspired me to START changing my life NOW!!
Can't wait to have the real plan made for me!

Any advice until then?
Is this o.k. to start now my half way plan?
(I think it's better because i don't want to be an extra pound heavier, but maybe not?)...
I just can't wait, seriously! It's driving me crazy!!!
I have done so many diets but there is something about
you guys and Cohen's...something is telling me this is it!

Hi,

If you are dedicated and want to lose weight anything that gets you eating well is right. That is without lollies cakes pastries macdonalds etc. etc.

The best way to look at healthy eating is natural products ie. fresh fruit veges meat. Dr Cohen recommends premium or vita wheat type crackers for the carb part of the program but in all his methods are very reduced amounts of everything. Enough to keep us going but not enough sustain us at the weight we are now.

So all that said, my thoughts are you are on the right track until you can afford the program just keep with the freshest foods you can buy and stop yourself from eating any processed rubbish and you will see good results if not in weight loss in your overall attitude to life because you will have so much more energy.

I am actually located in Canada, i will see if i can find those crackers here, if not i will order online when i get the plan. Because of that i will get the USA website plan (online program).
YES, Fresh! I went to the park with my baby girl today and before we came back home i made a stop to the grocery store, i even got non-fat organic yogourt! It was not bad at all!!!
Few years back i did Atkins and I only lost about 5-6 kg, so i know this plan must be more then low carbs--- so for now low carbs it is but i can't wait to have MY PLAN! Made just for me (or people like me)

I suggest you take a look at the "before you start cohen " recommendations here:

I suggest you simply try consuming no more than 150grams of lean meat and 150 grams of "Cohen approved" vegetables each meal until your program comes. In particular take care to NOT to eat what is recommended not to eat in the above link !

Are you continuing to breast feed?

I stopped breastfeeding at 9 months, she is now 11 months.

Another suggestion - don't mix your proteins as we aren't allowed to do this on the program So don't eat eggs and cheese together.

The way I see it you're going a little overboard.

You have only had two meals today, and neither of them really contained much veg.

Taking out all the drinking! this is what you ate:

If you look at LF's 'preparing for cohens' thread, which, by the way is excellent, you'll see the types of foods you should be both eating and avoiding. Also, one of the basic tenets of Cohens is not to mix proteins (as Melissa mentioned). Having Eggs and Cheese together is not ideal, neither is eating yoghurt within 2 hours of eating chicken.

It's really great that you're eager to get started, but don't do yourself more harm than good.

Eat sensibly, but whatever you do, don't 'not eat'. It'd be better to lose slower rather than faster until you get the RIGHT prescription of foods.

Keep on the forum, keep motivated, and it won't be long at all before you're on the programme!

I have change a few things...

Breakfast 2 eggs with veggies. crackers
Lunch Yogourt and apple
Supper Lean pork, veggies, crackers
Lots of water, diet drinks and pepperminth tea---
Did not feel dizzy today
Getting ready for Cohen!!!!

I need to buy more good foods. I also waited 5 hours in between meals--
My low stomach on the right size, was weirdy noisy?

"Lean Pork"...is that on the cohen diet menu now? Anyway since you are not offically ON COHEN just yet it should be fine.

LOL!! O.K. I am going to the store today...the "lean pork" was actually pretty fatty on the outside "ÿurky!"
I had to pick it out but i know it was not the best choice.
My baby is having a nap right now and then we are going to the grocery store to get healthy yummies!

I do feel much liter then usual and my belly/back area feels like the fat is melting away...strange?

*If i can do this on my own i know that I will be successful on Cohen!!

o.k. I need to get ready to go to the store
