Default 2 rather strange questions

hi all

i have 2 rather strange questions to ask:

1) i've been on cohens for 10days now, and i quite often dream (or rather have nightmares) that im eating chocolate.. and i wake up feeling disgusted wit myself that i have "cheated" (in my dream).. does anyone have this prob? or is it maybe a blessing in disguise (i.e by having these dreams, it keeps me in track not to side track from the diet?)

2) i used to eat lots of chocolate (sugary items) prior the diet, i would have a slab (those 100g ones) while i study and another slab while i lie in bed before i fall i sleep, one before varsity etc i would have 3 or 4 slabs (among other junk) every day and when i think that i no longer will gorge on chocolate like before, it kinda makes me sad!! i know: this sounds absolutely ridiculous, and i hate that i think this
i am really amazed by this diet and i am enjoying being thinner every day, and yet i feel confused
has anyone else felt like this? and what did u do to cope wit it?

any replies would be greatly appreciated, even if they're criticisms
thanx for taking the time to read
Evave

Hi Evave

First of all, I laughed out loud when I read your post. This exact thing happened to me the other night. I was dreaming that I was unwrapping a crunchie bar and I ate half of it. My husband woke me up and I said to him... I think I just ate a crunchy bar... OMG... I totally freaked out and thought, I'm sure I was just dreaming. I have these dreams all the time about chocolate!!!

I know how you feel about missing chocolate. I think I miss the feeling that chocolate gave me. I keep reminding myself over and over again that the food that I am eating is my medicine. It's a psychological journey for me as well.

Hi Evave,

I'm not much help in the dreams dept as I am finding it difficult to sleep long enough to dream.

However, welcome and how are you finding the program. Its good to see you here with what you think as strange questions as I feel like that whit posts I make too but there is always someone to help us out.

Enjoy your program and I look forward to reading about your success.

Melissa

I wondered how I was going to make it through without chocolate. Being a huge choccie addict I thought that I would be consumed with cravings. I have bearly even given it a second thought. People at work always sit near me munching on every chocolate known to man - and it has NO effect on me whatsoever!!

I have no real insight into this other than there are many factors at play here. Both physical and mental.

Another thing is to ensure that the multivitamin you are taking has chromium in it. It helps to stave off sugar cravings. If it doesn't - change to one that does or maybe ask your clinic if you can take a blood sugar regulating supplement as well. There are a couple out on the market. There's one called Bioglan Blood Sugar Balance and another one that I think Blackmores do???

Another thing is (and I know that Asy and maybe others do this as well!!) is to just smell the food you are wanting. For some strange reason smelling it seems to be enough at the moment!!

As for the dreams - I wish I could dream that I was eating chocolate. That's not a nightmare - that's heaven. Being able to enjoy it without the calories!!! I'm going to try and dream about it tonight!!!

Good luck

Cheers
