Default Online Garage sale

So I just wanted to kick an idea around.

I am a clothes junkie ( My husband will attest to this) probably mostly because I never looked on the outside like I felt I should on the inside, so in short I have a gigantic walk in wardrobe full of clothes, some only worn once, like the $160 dress for my sons graduation which now seems a tad loose.

So I guess what I wanted to know was as we are ever shrinking and going down in sizes on this journey is anyone interested in an online garage sale thread where you could post a picture of some of your good condition, non fitting clothes in the hopes that someone may get some use out of them before they too pass them on. I mean there woudl be postage involved and a few hassles but I am wondering if it's worth looking into. I know all of my 16-18 dresses from Noni'b's are in 'never worn' condition and maybe someone with an event to go to would rather pay a bit toward my end wardrobe than full retail for a new 'transitional' dressy outfit.

Just a question

If there's any interest in this, please post and let me know, I'll set up a new section for a clothes exchange if you all wish.

I think it's a GREAT idea, I know Brieziel was my saviour when I was losing, actually I still wear some of the stuff she gave me!!!

I think its a good idea ............... I need a new dress .............. Na just joking - cross dressing is not my thing ........really .... but I have lots of big cloths that I have given away .......... and maybe some one has a 6ft 9 husband with dwarf legs to fit the waist but all legs cut off on my jeans .........shirts 5 x and back ........... I wear them as dressing gowns on the odd occasion ................ maybe a hospital gown sorta if you put them on back to front ......... sounds good to me but I suppose we are are all thinking who wants the huge cloths ........ ???????????

Well Andy ..... If I sent you a dress would you at least try it on for us! ( with photographs of course) JK

I just thought we all are starting at different sizes so some of us have stuff that may benefit someone coming down the line.

Grand idea if you ask me. Theres nothing like getting something for nothing or very little, especially if you have an event to go to while on the way down. Seems pointless to spend good money for a one off.

Asy how'd you go with you ebay sale after you finished.

It's a good idea Connie, no I don't mean Andy in a dress, but certainly for those starting out. Unfortunately (?) I got rid of all my bigger clothes to the Red Cross last Sept but I'm sure there are others out there that this will benefit.

Melissa, I've sold HUNDREDS of dollars worth of old clothes on eBay.

I do it the smart way, though, I have a friend who's listed as a "Trading assistant" and she takes them all and lists them for a % of the profit

Works REALLY well for me that way.

Mind you, at size 26-30 there's not that many of you coming down through that size, thankfully that's why I was VERY grateful to get Brie's old size 16-18 stuff as I was coming through those sizes.

I still have tubs and tubs and tubs of clothes waiting to go onto eBay, hopefully my friend will get them on sometime soon (she's a very busy girl!)...

Most of the clothes we're selling is business attire. 10 years as a Real Estate Agent really amasses some clothes, let me tell you !!!

Anyway, Please let me know whether you guys are interested, and I'll set up a section for selling, swapping or trading clothes.

I think you can just go ahead ASY and set a section up - with clothing to start with - and some basic rules maybe - like we don't want ex real estate agents selling the Sydney harbour bridge now do we !!!!!

All good - just keep it simple.

Andy.

I would if I could, mate... I would if I could...

I got some land to sell, if yer interested. Don't worry about the water, it'll go down... (eventually...)

I'll set up the area, with STRICT rules of engagement.
