Sick & can't eat??
Ive been sick the last couple of days, got the flu pretty bad. Today is the third day that I havent been able to hold down food, all I have been eating is crackers and a mouth full of protien every now and then. I feel so nausious every time I eat anything, including the cracker but I know I have to eat something. Ive made sure that I dont eat anything non cohens related and have been keeping the times between my crackers to 2 1/2 hours, but Im worried because I have lost 2 kg in the last 2 days. Will this cause a huge blowout when I start eating properly again? I know thats not what I should be worried about when Im sick, just focussing on getting better, but I dont want to mess things up. Usually, pre-cohens, when I was sick I would just get chicken and eat little bits when I felt I needed it through out the day. But now that Im on cohens I cant do that and the thought of my normal meals and weights is just making me want to throw up. What should I do?? |

Hi brooke
Sorry to hear that you are not well We can't be 100% all of the time, but when we get actual illnesses such as the flu we just have to roll with the punches You seem to suffer a lot with nausea. Has this been a problem for you all your life? Perhaps it indicates that a lot of other things are 'making you sick', too. When you feel better, go back on the program. Until then, do what you can and eat what you can manage. You have done well to stick to your Shopping List. Try soups and other light meals first, rather than just launching back into it. And don't worry about the weight. It goes down, it goes up, in the scheme of things it won't matter much, the most important thing is your health. You will still end up at your goal weight plus / minus a week or so Hope you feel better soon Kristine |

Thanks Kristine.
No Nausea isnt a normality for me, at the start of the program I assumed it was because I was trying to get my body used to the change, and that has since worn off. I have the full blown flu now, head cold, chesty cough, lost my voice, nausea and vomiting. I guess I just have to eat what I can handle until Im better. |

Hi Brooke,
Dr Cohen has always said that your health comes first. If you are unwell, like you are, go off the program until you are better, then resume your program then. You are not going to do any damage to your diet if you are looking after your health. |

Brooke, sorry to hear you are ill. On Cohen's no one wants to be slowed down by not sticking to the plan. However, as Lou said, health first. Eat what you can for now, stick with healthy Cohen food but not with the weights, and maybe eat a little more as you are recovering if you feel like it. If your body needs a bit more to help your immune system to recover, your recovery may be slowed down a bit by sticking strictly to the diet.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time. My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight. What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/ |
