Yes, but with codicils.

"just thought I'd ask as in my Cohen's recipie book I'm almost SURE it says add sweetener in there somewhere!!"

You are almost sure? you need to get out your program, dust it off, and reread it. I think most reread their program at least bi-weekly and each time find out something new. There are different types of sweetners and depending on the country and even the style of a brand, some aren't useable. Get the program out again......

I never used any sweeteners the whole program and still don't so don't know of actual brands.

You can have sweetener, no more than 5 tablets a day

As with most questions, they have been discussed before, there is a discussion on which are allowed here :

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...ight=sweetener

Diana
I have a hermeseta tablet in my yogurt in the mornings along with some paw paw and a little sprite zero to melt the tablet. It is sooooo yummy! I found some mangos in Woolworths that are imported from Mexico, so I have been having mango in place of the paw paw some days too.

Oh YUMMY!!! Guess where I'm going after work! I couldn't find mangos OR paw-paw at my local veggie shop. And my local Foodland doesn't have Sprite Zero! grrr Will just have to stock up from other shops.

Thanks for the advise though

I dissolve the sweetener in a small quantity of water in the microwave, Diana. I use honeydew as the fruit also. At the moment, with mangoes out of season, it's my favourite. Others add stewed apple, or grated apple, and cinnamon. Peaches and nectarines are delicious when they are in season.

I like the sugarless. Because it is powder, I can add to meals- like yogurt (with out water to mix) and meals for cooking. The pills I find are more sickly sweet I have found.

Paza, to answer your question, I like Sugarine in my yoghurt because it is two teaspoons equivalent, and the Hermesetas (1 tspn equivalent) in coffee.

Thumbs down The sugar mystery continues...

Hi

I was doing the program in Perth Australia and have now moved to London. I was asking about sweeteners as there seems to be alot of confusion as to what is and what is not allowed. I had the most bazzar response from the clinic: we can use the Hermestasis (not gold), Sugarine, Stevia, Splenda and Aspartame (which was previously banned)?!?!

This is what the consultant told me:
"You can use artificial sweeteners based on Aspartame. Dr Cohen’s internet clinic says that tablets or packets of Splenda and Stevia are allowed".

So as you can see the mystery thickens as I have never heard of anything else being allowed than Hermestasis and Sugarine.

Maybe Asy could find out for sure as she seems to be closest to the God head lol!!!

Any further clarification would be appreciate and I wish that all the clinics could decide what they tell us to be the same.

xxnicole

Default Re: Sweetner...Questions??

I had a question on the sweetners as well, my booklet says "you may use sweetners based on aspartame-and 5 packets of splenda or stevia may be used. I consulted my consultant and asked if I could use aspartame unlimited and on top of that the 5 packs of splenda or stevia and she said yes. I want to use saccharin hermesetas. so I am going to switch- I think sacharin hrmesetas is safer than aspartame. In my book it says nothing about sacharin(i didn't know hermesetas was sacharin I thought it was another brand name for aspartame. It also says in that paragraph about not using hermesetas gold)

What I don't understand is why they don't put the chemical ingredient of the sweetner in the book that we are allowed to use? It would be so much easiier because there are alot of areas where the same item of the same manufacturar is marketed under a different name.
