Getting Pregnant
I thought i could eat the cohen's meals but in bigger portions so that i am not eating lots of fat, but if have bigger servings, will get enough nutrients. I am really worried about my weight while pregnant and after as i am worried when i am not even pregnant. I know in my self that once i had the baby that i would stick to this programme until i got back down to where i want to be but just wondering if anyone has ideas on how to keep the weight off while pregnant and only have that baby bump. Thanks you Anniem |

Re: Getting Pregnant
I do not have any experience to your question but I guess what you can do is to stick to Cohen friendly meals but disregard the portion size. i.e. Low Carb and Low GI diet?

Re: Getting Pregnant
You really do need to discuss your concerns with your doctor.
Being pregnant puts enormous strain on the body and the hormones all do wild jigs! Also, you need to ensure you get enough energy and nutrients to see you through otherwise the baby leeches it all out of you and you could be left totally depeleted. Perhaps when you have finished the programme and done the refeed, the maintenance guidelines are a much better form of guidance of how to keep the weight off. Vee |

Re: Getting Pregnant
Perfect answer, Vee!
Ask your Doctor, Annie! The programme is designed to lose weight (even if only to get pregnant) and will not sustain your health and help 'grow' another being... xMissy xMissy

Re: Getting Pregnant
Cohens is not designed to be altered for pregnancy. In the case of nutrition whilst pregnant please discuss with your GP.

Re: Getting Pru have to egnant
If you are pregnant, you have to STOP the program IMMEDIATLEY!
A Quote from ASY- "However, you MUST stop the programme immediately, it's one of the things Dr Cohen is absolutely adamant about. There is NO way you should stay on the programme, irrespective of how little people perceive your baby 'needs' right now. Eat sensibly, restrict sugar and fat as you would in normal circumstances and you'll be fine." Shell
