Not feeling hungry...
I'm into week 3 and I'm finding that apart from brekkie I'm just not hungry when meal time 2 & 3 roll around. I am eating all my meals but this whole not having an appetite thing is quite strange to me. I'm active all day (my job involves me moving all day walking around the office) I'm not madly exercising - just doing my daily 30 min walk which is what I've always done. Has anyone experienced this so early in ? I don't recall having this happen last time I was on cohens. Cheers |

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Hey Curly
I haven't had this problem yet this time around. But I do recall last time, was around the week 3 or 4 mark too actually, that I was really struggling to eat everything. Was quite the change from wanting to gnaw my own arms of week 2 lol. I'm not really sure of the science of it, maybe someone else will be able to shed some light on that for you, but from what I have read it seems to be a normal reaction for most of us at some stage. Just keep on what you're doing, make sure you get all your meals in. Maybe speak to your clinic and get the ok to skip a snack or two if you feel the need. I believe after day 10 the snacks aren't 100% mandatory, but I would always call the clinic to ask anyway, just in case Congrats on doing so well thus far! Not long till your 4 week weigh in, can't wait to see your results. The first weigh in is always super exciting! Elle |

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Hi Curly
I remember last time and I'm already experiencing it this time after only 5 days that I just don't want to eat the meals all the time. it's not that I not hungry as such. it's more that I can't stomach the thought of more of the same. Almost like a medicine you just don't like the taste of. Mind you, I'm not a big veggie fan so getting them down is a struggle at the best of times. Not sure if this is how you feel about the food though |

Re: Not feeling hungry...
This is my 7th day and i just cant get over not feeling hungry. Especially as i was such a carboholic.
Tonight my family had fish and chips and frankly the smell made me feel sick. From day 1 i can honestly say i havent felt hungry. I too have to look at the clock and say to myself time for another meal. Pre Cohens i just ate continuously as i always thought i was hungry. I always ate good food, just lots of it. |

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Hi Curly! You're body is in detox and busy with throwing toxins out!
I had to set my alarm the first couple of weeks to remember the meals.... But now I'm getting hungry (still not always) around the times I'm supposed to eat! Just enjoy the fact that it isn't the other way around. See it as medicine as oi said. I had a cold for quite a long time and couldn't taste anything - usually I would have skipped meals, but I remembered that food is my medicine so I ate.... Keep eating and see it that your body needs it to burn fat, also eat your crispbread and fruits - at least for the first 10 days. You'll have a great journey! |

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Hi Everyone
Thanks for the replies, I'm thinking the summer heat might also have something to do with the no hunger thing going on. I don't eat a lot in summer at the best of times lol. I'm just ensuring I eat all the meals I have to and no doubt the good ol' hunger pangs will revisit soon enough. @Elle - I've cut back on the crispbreads now as I find the meal itself enough to eat but I still eat my fruit, can't go without my fruit. & I can totally relate to the previous feeling of wanting to gnaw my own arm off - BUT am glad thats behind me lol. @Koh - I will investigate this "Zone" and read up. @OverIt - I love the "clean eating" side of this program, love my vegies but I realise that I was a very big carb eater - even in the healthy sense. So far I'm not bored but I have been scouting recipes so that if that point hits then I'm prepared. @Chilli - I know what you mean about the aromas of some foods that we probably used to devour now don't smell so good. Means the tastebuds & sense of smell is a changing & for the better. BUT my downfall is walking past a bakery - OMG still love that smell, but I just don't go in LOL. @Greeni - think I might "borrow" your idea and set an alarm to remind me when meal time is. Thanks again

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Hi
Thanks For the posts. Cause I can't get over not feeling hungry either. It has only been a week on the plan. But before most afternoons on the way home from work, used to be so hungry that when i got home, could have eaten a meal for three. Now trying to remind myself to have that serve of crispbread. |

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Hi Curly.
I think i was actually a carboholic for a better word. The bread intake in this household has seriously gone down. I only have a Ryvita crushed in my yoghurt in the morning now and have given up the others as just dont feel i need them.Still have my beloved fruit though. Looks like we have simalar amounts of weight to lose. Have a gr8t day. Gaylene

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Hiya Everyone
Thank you all so much for your posts. Your words certainly do help me along. @Girl Rock & Chilli - I've cut right back on the ol crispbreads so that I am somewhat hungry for my dinner at night. I'm in Sydney and the heat has been quite feral this last week and I've been forcing myself to eat my dinner but I just don't think about it, knock it over and it's done lol. I can tend to do my own head in sometimes but I've learnt not to 'overthink' it all & just get on with it. ;-D |

Re: Not feeling hungry...
Isn't this heat horrid , over 40 degrees all this week and i work in it salad with meat for dinners, tuna and salad lunches. water water water. Hope it rains soon.Love to see how much more sleep might get when it doesn't feel like I'm sticking to the bed.
Just make times and eat. Thats what ive been doing, 5am breakie, 11am lunch, 3pm snack,6pm dinner. If needed a 8am coffee Don't need to over think it, just get creative with what food you have been given. if still hot tomorrow Im blending a mango and making a frozen sorbet. |
