Default Can you mix cheeses?

If you are having a meal with cheese, can you have 2 different types of cheeses in one meal?
I made stuffed mushrooms with feta in, and then added mozerella on top, all within my allowance wheight, and only after did I think that perhaps i'm not supposed to mix the two.

Hi Liz!
Yes you can mix cheese... when you look at your plan there are groups of proteins (e.g beef, veal, kangaroo, venison) within them you can mix around as much as you want (or turkey and chicken) but no mixing in between different groups (so no beef mixed with cheese - that's a no no

You are travelling very well!

Congratulations on you're great loss so far! Fantastic job!

Thanks Greeni! I should really go study my plan thoroughly again.
But at least it's good news... hmmm, pity I can only have feta once a week.

Hi Liz,

I think you are not allowed to mix feta with non-feta ones. Non-feta cheeses you can mix (mozzarella + ricotta, in my husband's case). That's how it is in hubby's meal plan...
Hope this doesn't confuse you even more. Call and ask your clinic to be sure!

Hey Manda...

My program says you can mix within proteins... BUT, seeing as there are 2 different weights for feta and non feta I would say that mixing our other cheese options with feta would be a no.

There is a 10g difference between my feta and non-feta cheese weights.

I was also told that you can't mix feta with other cheeses, however the recipe still sounds yum with ricotta and mozzarella

Yeah - sorry feta has a different weigh allowance than mozza and ricotta or cottage cheese, but you can mix the other cheeses.... I didn't think of the different feta allowance
