Optimizing Weight Loss
Firs up the citations: Calorie King - calories by lb/g for all foods http://www.calorieking.com.au/ Calorie Calculator http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html Calorie calculator shows (for my age, height and weight) that I can consume 1005 calories a day to loose a kilo per week (so not going to cut it!) I put a few of my regular days on Cohen's into Calorie King and here's what I've got. In short, the daily 1,2,3 meal combination's vary drastically in terms of calorie count. for example: Meal 1 Egg & Veg Meal 2 Cheese, Veg & 2 Salada Meal 3 Calamari Veg & 1 Salada Snack 1 Apple This, (for my weights) comes in at 568 cal. However, swapping meal 2 with Chicken and 3 with Meat options ups the calorie total to 760cal. So the difference between a 568 day and a 760 day could be the difference between a loss of 1.5kg p/week and 2.5kg p/week. Food for thought? I'll leave it with you. Gem

Re: Optimizing Weight Loss
yeah agree it isnt just calories but a body balance of everything. still cant believe the normal mozzarella cheese. only thing i can recommend for quicker losses is lots of water and green tea while on the plan. best to look at andys statistics and average where you think you will be.

Re: Optimizing Weight Loss
This is not a calorie counting diet. to get optimum results be deviation free, sleep 6-8 hours and drink 2 to 3 liters of water. I've been on the diet since the start of the year, and this is what really works.

Re: Optimizing Weight Loss
Good point Cecile, that is the best way to get optimum results from the program. Gem I think while I understand the logic you are using I don't think if you put it in practice it would make much different from you weight loss, like being stated before hand you need to ensure you are deviation free to get the most out of the program.

Re: Optimizing Weight Loss
Thanks guys. The post assumed a deviation free approach to Cohens. the journey has shown that maximizing seafood intake works, and the 'extras' that make the difference. If I can stay under 3 pieces of fruit p/w and stay between 0 to 3 of a maxinum 5 crackers per day I'm guaranteed a good result.

Re: Optimizing Weight Loss
Gemsta, you also have to remember that if you don't eat enough and your body goes into conservation/starvation mode ie skipping saladas or fruits your body will hang on to weight it instead of letting it go.
