Cohens take two
This is my second time on Cohens. About a year ago i lost 30kgs and managed to keep most of it off. I always said id 'have a break' and then lose the remaining 20kgs but unfortunately during my so called break i regained 12kgs!!!! So here i am again, more motivated and inspired than ever. I do not want to go back to how i used to be before i lost weight. I have my group seminar on saturday, do my first blood test on the Monday and then will re-start my program on the Wednesday if its ready. Any words of advise for someone who is starting again? I have a fear that it wont work second time round but i guess i just have to face my fears. Snapper x |

Hi Snapper
Congratulations for pulling yourself up and rejoining Cohens. It absolutely does work the second time around, as a few people on this forum know. I can't wait to see your progress |

Re: Cohens take two
Hi Snapper,
Yes, it will work again - especially as you have gotten a new program and therefore it will be tailored for you biochemically. Just remember that the first week is the hardest and then you will hit the zone. All the best Butterfly |

Re: Cohens take two
Good luck Snapper, I'm a second time rounder also, lost 10.2kg in my first month! WOO! I brought a new program, best thing as it was very different with weights to my first one, but I'd also had a baby... which could be why... in any case, new or old program good luck with your weight loss!

Thanks Mec06, i also bought a new program, was slightly different in measurements. Im on day 5 now and i must admit im deffinatley struggling more this time. Last time i did my program through summer and found all the salads etc really refreshing. Now its winter time im really craving wintery warm foods.. Just gotta hang in there, im taking it day by day. Im really looking forward to weighing myself once my first week is up.

Re: Cohens take two
Stay strong- you can do it this time! We both can!! The feta & cauliflower soup is great as a winter warmer, pity we can only have it once a week- boo! The cohens recipe book also has a tuna soup in it, I was very hesitant when I tried it first time round, but it was yum!! I add chilli to mine for some extra spice as well, so maybe give these ago, not exactly creamy pumpkin soup, but still pretty good. I also find cooking my apple with some sprite zero is good also, it makes me feel fuller & is a nice treat on a cool day or evening so maybe give that a go also... Good luck & keep staying strong!!

Re: Cohens take two
Hey guys,
yes I joined the new program club for the second time round too, best thing ever, program is very different too and I'd only had a baby 6 weeks before I got the new one. Didn't want to wait after I'd pretty much undone all the hard work I did first time.........41kg of hard work!!! I feel lucky, I've only had 35 to lose this time!!!!!!! Not laughing!!! My 8 week weigh in is tomorrow. Feeling a bit nervous. WIth mummy brain and all, I thought it was actually last tuesday, so I got all geared up, weighed in and then discovered I was a week early. Good news is that I was already 12kg down. I looked at it like a bit of a sneak peak!!! Hope all you second time rounders go well!!! Keep in touch |

Re: Cohens take two
Snapper......I forgot to say, it absolutely works second time round, equally as good as first time round. I had the same fears.....believe me, I thought, there's no way i can do this twice in my life, but i had to try....I took the leap of faith, and had to trust.......perhaps a word I'm yet to fully embrace for myself. We all truly need to have more faith in ourselves.

Welcome to the Forum As has already been said, the answer is 'soup'! By the time you've slurped your way through 1,000 mouthfuls of hot, fragrant chicken and cauliflower or beef and mushroom or a Cohen's version of mulligatawny, with either a rice cake in the bowl to welcome it or a Salada to crunch on the side, you will feel that you have eaten very well indeed With a new baby, making soup means that you can have it ready for when you are. I have no new baby, but make Meal #3 soup when I make Meal #2 (whatever that may be), leave the soup to simmer while I cook & eat Meal #2 then turn off the heat and let it rest until I am ready to eat it. Obviously, you may prefer to let the soup cool and then refrigerate until you are ready for Meal #3. I have found this makes it much easier for me - but you may want to make the soup when you are preparing the evening meal for yourself & the family, but keep the soup for the next day's lunch. Or have soup x 2 meals each day! Or soup and a casserole! One of my favourite casseroles leaves the meat whole with the chopped / sliced veg over the meat, and plenty of hot water to make up the stock When I have finished eating the 'solids', I then get to have the gravy as a broth soup as well! The best of both worlds. This dish always feels as if I have eaten a two course meal. Don't forget that even if you are not a big fan of hot'n'spicy, a pinch of chilli flakes or a shake of Tabasco can zizz up a plain dish and make a simple recipe that much more robust! There is definitely a Cohen's Zone. Once we are in that Zone it is very easy from there on Good luck, the kilos will melt away Cheers Kristine |
