Default Frustrating Scales

This may seem like a really obvious thing, but I am interested to hear HOW you weigh, both your food and yourself.

I am finding myself increasingly annoyed with my food scales. I'm usually lazy and I will put a piece of cling wrap on them, tare, then weigh my food. I'll go put the leftover food away and I will come back and find that there is either more or less than my allowance showing on the scales when I get back a few seconds later.

As for my bathroom scales, my bathroom floor isn't level so I have had to move my scales downstairs. But I find I get a different reading according to where I put them and how I stand, even on the concrete. If the battery starts to go in scales, would it give different results or just turn off?

So, anyone out there,......How do you weigh? How do you stand? Where do you put your arms. Feet close together or far apart?

LOL...drove me nuts weighing my food to find that it had shifted a g or two! I now use a small bread plate, weigh, and then zero, or turn it off... haven't had to many issues with my bathroom scales, but cue CB, Slim and N2M on that!

Hate that too!

I have found one spot for my scales in the bathroom that I use religiously. I only weigh once and don't weigh again. I have chosen to believe that that is my weight for the day and there are no other chances. I suck it up and move on. I have found though, that as the battery is dying the results become quite bizarre... Like one or two kilo gains or losses, or being unable to settle on a particular weight.

As for my food scales, I've found them doing the same... Walk away and back to find they've changed. I do add or subtract to get the correct weight

Thanks guys. It's more the bathroom scales I guess I'm annoyed at - Dezzy it sounds like I may need to check the battery. I kind of chose to avoid them for a very long time until now - except my partner being disgusting and weighing himself before and after a poo. Sigh. Men. lol.

Yes yea yeah to all of the above.

Try changing battery but it still gives me diff results anyway. I weigh in the same spot on floor and arms at my sides..relaxed. ..and nude. I don't bother weighing dressed... ever lol

Food scales.. dont really have an issue . Mine were exhorbedant expensive ww ones when I went on a ww stage!! I weigh onto a small plate like Ciors too

My kitchen scales also doesn't have that problem - it turns off after a few seconds to save the battery...

yeh, changing weights is VERY annoying.

Sometimes I'll chop and weigh a whole bunch of meat to freeze, then I'll go to weigh my last one that I would be eating that night to find I don't have enough, so I'll put that in a ziplock and label it as whatever weight... Then I'll take one that I already weighed and packed ready for freezing to have for that meal and I'll re-weigh it just for fun... And what do you think happens?! 1 or 2 grams out... Grrrrrr!!!! Soooooo annoying!

I do try and give my food scales a decent chance at 'settling' before I stop the weighing process, I find that eliminates some of the issues.

I have some jewellery scales that I use at work. They are super precise. 0.00 gram and that can be annoying too, but what really annoys me is that when the batteries go flat, there is no warning, no one last weigh. It's bang gone. No more. And they are those expensive flat round batteries! haha, very annoying.

As for weighing myself... I am a nudie, after going to the toi toi as soon as I wake up. If I'm not impressed with the weight I might re-weigh but it is usually the same. One thing funny though, and I might experiment with this tomorrow... I have some expensive body fat yada yada ones but they are now in the 2nd bathroom so I don't use them as often... and every time I have used them I have had a better result. Then I go back to the other ones 'just to check' and then suddenly the say the same thing. Like 'okay okay, I was lying, you are xxkilos.' haha. So frustrating!

I am lucky in that our tiles are big square ones and the scales fit exactly on them. I stand still and generally let my arms fall wherever they want. I stand with my feet apart. My fancy scales have a place for your feet.
