Still haven't gotten there yet BB! Is definetly on my to do list though. Nothing exciting to report - just plodding along. Will be my week 4 weigh and blood test on Wednesday, time is flying by. Kids have 2 more weeks of school and then they are on holiday for 2 weeks

Lol Caz!! Yep will be plenty of crazy I'm sure

Nothing exciting to report, still just cruising along . I was amazed to see the 73's on the scales over the weekend, wasn't the greatest day food and water wise yesterday so hoping to still see the 73's on Wednesday my week 4 weigh and blood test. Pays to be organised huh, I have been caught out twice now staying out longer than I've thought - now have emergency crackers at all times in my bag! Can anyone tell me why it is so important to never miss a meal? Have seen this mentioned quite a bit?

Consultant said - If you don't have enough food your body kicks into "starvation" mode and holds onto fat and it slows the process down.

I think the emphasis is on not missing a meal because we are already eating a fairly low calorie diet on the plan, and there is worry that eating even less food (even if you are not hungry) might slow down your metabolism, and make it hard for you to continue to lose weight. Either that or missing the meal might make you super hungry the next day/meal time and you might end up deviating, which could lead to the deviation spiral of doom! I am just trying to be dramatic. But often once people do deviate, it throws their hormones out of whack (especially if they eat off plan something that they are really sensitive to - for me, sugar) which makes it hard to get back on the bus.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for that - makes total sense! I have found it really amazing how easy physically Cohen's is to stick to, apart from those first few rough days I can honestly say that part has been fine, it has more been the mental part for me. Awaiting the Beck book to arrive so I can get my head around that side of it all a bit more. I am finding though that if things don't quite go 100% one day that doesn't have to mean I go completely off the rails which is what I have always done previously

Haha Lol! Aah but it still feels so far away, especially with my recent slow losses - but hey, I am feeling really good about myself because I am getting close to goal, so I am more confident and happy in my body.

I probably need to go and buy myself a copy of the beck diet solution book (I have read it in the past) to prep myself for "management" time.

Hope you have had a wonderful day!

Hooray for fat burning!!

Something else I have noticed this week is that I have stopped being quite so 'regular'. I have got some alpine tea so will try and have a cup each day and hopefully that helps. Obviously it's quite normal though as its even mentioned in my plan

Hello KiwiC!

Just popping in to say hello on your diary - you're doing great!

Re being less 'regular', I actually wrote to my consultants about this and they said this is to be expected. Once or twice a week is normal while on the programme. It took a while for me to adjust to this - mentally, mostly... I don't know you, but I can get this irrational fear of never going again (!). But basically it's exactly as they said it would be and now I don't worry about it.

Lovely to see how well you're doing - keep going

Thanks for the encouragement Monsoon It's nice to know what is "normal" and what isn't whilst on plan!

Cold here today!! I have definetly noticed a change in my body temperature, isn't it funny! I haven't lost a huge amount of weight as yet but it is enough to make a difference in how my clothes fit and my confidence which is awesome! I will be lighting the fire again though later if it stays cold

I miss those regular 'clean outs' (LOL/eww/haha).

I just try and forget about it now and let it happen when it wants to! It's frustrating when sometimes your losses might be slow and you try and think back to the last time you had a good... 'clean out'... and you honestly can't remember!! (That was me this morning!). Haha... You never can tell though... Cos, just a massive bit of TMI here... I just had the sudden urge and it was good. That is all. hahahahahahahahahaha. Ahhh the things we share on this forum!
