Anyone heard of Matcha Green Tea?

I was in T2 looking for some green tea. They were telling me about Matcha Green Tea. It's a green tea in a powder form. The entire green leaves are crushed into a fine powder, you add to warm/hot water and drink like normal. One cup of Matcha is supposed to be equivalent in antioxidants to 10-15cups of regular green tea. It's potent because u like regular green tea where the leaves are diffused in water, then the leaves are thrown away, the entire leaves are consumed as a powder, so all the nutrients are consumed and not thrown away.

In the end, I purchased the regular green tea bags, but wanted to see if anyone has heard of or tried this Matcha Green Tea?? I'm told nothing extra is added to the powder, it's pure green tea leaves.

Has anyone tried it before or have any thoughts about it? I don't have a consultant to ask, so if someone does I would appreciate advice on it.

I looooove Matcha Green Tea! I just am not sure it's allowed - haven't asked, so I just buy regular green tea.

I even like this green tea with roasted brown rice called Genmai Cha, but I'm not sure that's allowed either. But that is yummy yum yum.
