Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
Just flying you are. As I read your post I wish I could have sent you a pic of my lovely hubby crumpling up his discarded purple wrapper - he just inhaled a slab of cadburys and I hadn't noticed. What a coincidence! You know I was thinking about your original post and I can tell you that I felt EXACTLY the same way as you when I decided to fix myself. I also couldnt bend over without tummy getting in the way, thighs chaffing, fat cheese curl toes, sore legs and swollen and puffy. But what is so odd - and a thought that I keep coming back to, this week especially, is that we all have different pressure points right! Because I felt that way at 98 kilo's and my goal weight is 68 kilo's. You felt that way at below my goal weight so for someone like me I would wish for your starting weight even though we both wished to change our symptoms of our situations at that time. So I feel like this week im losing less than I usually do. Yesterday I really felt fat - isn't that just odd but I am not and I wondered if we now have new "feeling fat points"? Not sure if this makes any sense but when we are at goal will 2 kilo's over make us feel the same way we felt when we started??? something to wonder about hey. Anyway gonna do my update tomorrow because I am doing 12 week weigh in so until then. |

Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
Hey Tes! Loved reading your reply and yes I totally get it! It's amazing how our body and mind changes the goal posts with the different stages of weightloss/gain! The mind is truly so powerful, sometimes a bit scary to be honest! There must be points/stages our body hits were it sends a signal to our mind to feel. I remember leaning over my little one while he was drawing one afternoon and feeling like my face was sagging downwards..it was a feeling like fat pulling down with gravity. It felt disgusting and I remember thinking geez am I really that fat!? Is it possible we are really in tune with our bodies and the changes are more notable because of that? If so, I'm so glad that I have the ability to take notice of the signs before it gets way out of control. Chaffing thighs...oh man! Getting out of the shower and walking to get the towel and feeling your skin of your thighs pulling against each other is not at all pleasant or kneeling down on the floor for a few moments and having your feet go totally numb is horrendous..I'm sure I'm not alone in saying these moments are the points at which we say enough is enough! I think the worse I've ever felt about myself is not wanting to be seen by my hubby in the flesh. I was repulsed by my reflection in the mirror and I know it wasn't a pretty sight! I know people say you should never lose weight because of someone else but come on it must play a part in spurring on an urge to slim down! Talking of hubbies...I almost lost it when I read your hubby just inhaled his purple wrapper! I swear that's what happens here...mines so shifty and quick I have trouble picking up that he's got stuck into a block too hahaha cheeky buggers! At least we are strong and unwavering, that's something to be proud of! Keep up your awesome work Tes, I love reading your posts x

Wow IADT, 5.8kg in 5 weeks?! brilliant work on the weight loss and your strength. Not being bothered at all by chocolate is a massive win, you should feel fantastic. It's changes like this that will keep you at goal weight when you're in maintenance.
I'm glad that your physical symptoms are disappearing, it must make you feel so much better and ore energetic. Can't wait to hear the next update!

Hi IADT, I can't wait for my physical symptoms to disappear too. 5 kgs is awesome. Well done. I haven't experienced a plateau yet so am waiting for that shoe to drop. My turning point was when I couldn't even reach my feet to paint my toenails! I asked hubby to help me (men have no idea about how to paint toenails) and ended up with the worst paint job. I had toenail polish all over my feet. But I also saw photos of me that it hit home jusy how big I had let myself get.
I keep thinking to myself "At least I'm doing something about it". I had a fat day yesterday cos I made the mistake of trying on some clothes. But am back on track mentally today. Thinking of you. Hugs Andie

Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
Hello Friday! Straight to it..... Weighed in at 58.1kg this morning 😀 I'm at the point where I think my scales are playing tricks on me...in a good way! I actually weighed myself 4 times just to make sure, but nope that's what the scales said no matter if the scales were on the bathroom floor or the kitchen floor 😜 stoked! And wow...have I been through some very stressing times lately but I am taking credit for staying true to myself and not deviating once, I will not let anything get to me and I will not cheat myself, I deserve better than that! I hope everyone reading this feels positive about their own journey, please don't let life and others beat you down, you, like I deserve to feel comfortable in your own skin and confident in your choices xxx excited to change my ticker...woohoo! 😀 happy day and weekend to you all!

Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
I also found that the gain I had made me moody which I didn't realize at first was because I was feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. You are doing such an amazing job! I am 41 years old and I know people normally say its harder to lose when you are older, but seems like we are doing pretty great!
I have a question. Your goal weight is 50 kg. I am in the US so I don't understand how the weight is calculated. You sound like you are super skinny to me at 58.1 kg |

Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
Hey AudreeS thank you for you lovely comments and support it means a lot! Yeah, being over 40 I was told by many it won't be easy to budge the weight, but like you there is proof we can prove them wrong.. in a good way! 😊 I'm barely 5 foot 2 and have a petite frame so my doctor recommended (all things considered) that my ideal weight range was between 46kg - 52kg. I was down to 50kg after doing cohens last time (all tally I went to 48kg at one stage when in maintenance) and found 50 to be super comfortable and I looked healthy and felt great. That's why I've chosen the weight I have. I'm riddled with arthritis throughout my neck and spine, knees and toes so it's in my best interests to keep my weight down and wow... can I feel the difference already! 😊 keep smiling and enjoy your journey, it's a powerful experience ..taking control of your mind and body for a positive outcome! 😊

Yay! IAMDT congrats on your loss. Believe those scales, they don't lie. And thank goodness they can't talk.
You're so little, I am the complete opposite - tall and built like a front row forward on a rugby field! Isn't it great that we are all different. It takes all shapes and sizes to make the world go round. Hugs Andie

Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
Good morning and happy Friday everyone so this post I'm not happy about but needs to be done. I disappointed myself and deviated this week after getting on the scales and seeing zero "0" weightloss after a whole week (minus 2 minutes) I am absolutely gutted and really frustrated with the 2 minutes I decided to stuff my face with 3 cinnamon donuts NOT WORTH IT, I didn't 'need' them and I have learnt a huge lesson. I will not be tempted again, the consequences are NOT worth the furry teeth, racing heart and foul after taste after scoffing the deep fried sugary treat. I say 'treat'....no it wasn't a treat, well it certainly doesn't feel like a treat today! However, I believe things happen for a reason, it certainly is a reality check...don't deviate...you can not trick the scales with this eating plan if you cheat yourself! Lesson learnt, as from today, I will be true to myself and not feel this disappointed because I stuffed up ever again...there was no positive gain from this so why do it? Onwards and upwards....water, 100% plan and focus...yep I have learnt a very valuable lesson! I still have faith in my ability to get this right and be on track, I want to be healthy!! Hope you all have had a good week and have a wonderful weekend x

Hi IADT!
Now that's what I would I would call giving yourself a good talking to! I like how you noticed why you deviated and how quickly you accepted it chalked it up to a lesson learned, have yourself a kick in the pants and moved on with more determination. You're awesome!

Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
It's Friday! 😀 weighed in today to find I am now down to 57.2kg. I know why the scales have slowed down...not enough water...no way near enough! It's been so so cold and I've not wanted to drink cold water...so I am now adapting to this clash of worlds to include warm water drinks instead of my usual coffee/tea intake. Sure it's weird and tasteless but it's not cold! 😜. I've also been addicted to mozzarella cheese for lunch...I'm sure this will get old soon and I'll go back to fish or chicken..it's just so nice, like comfort food...naughty 😉 anyways, I did learn my lesson from deviating and overcame that so not all has been lost...only a few grams hehe 😀 how is everyone else going on their journeys? I hope you have all had victories like mine I had this morning? My victory was daring to try on a cute pair of pants I've had in the cupboard which I got on a massive sale 6 months ago, 2 sizes smaller than I needed at the time. I pulled them on today and the fit! I swear I almost passed out I was so excited! The zipper went straight up and to my utter amazement I looked in the mirror and saw NO muffin top...WooHoo what a win! Have been on cloud 9 since 😀 hope you all have a wonderful weekend x

Re: That Shrinking Feeling 😜 Feels O-so Good!
Woo hoo it's Friday the day of weigh in! happy to report another 500gm loss! 56.7kg which is a personal goal of mine..to see 56 on the scales makes me feel accomplished even better was the feeling of trying on those jeans in my cupboard that haven't fit in years and they now do! To me that's so much more powerful than seeing the number on the scales! I'm wearing a pair now and they don't cut into my belly when sitting down so that's huge for me! Have been feeling excessively cold..no freezing lately which makes me think, am I close to my ideal weight? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated from those who have been down this path and felt the same there is no price or food that can top this feeling of satisfaction. Hope all is going well with everyone xx

Hi IADT! Congrats on the loss. I am feeling cold too all the time now and put this down to the fat that I'm losing my insulation! Lol.
I find that drinking warm water rather than cold helps and layering clothing. Way to go with your jeans, I like your attitude and approach. Hugs Andie
