Re: rettstar's rambles
Hi everyone
I've been on hiatus again due to me finishing up my job. My last two weeks were spent catching up on all the work documentation, recording all of the things that only I know about - HAHA. Work did the last minute "let's make R angry" thing and tried to force my staff to change shifts to the point where it was financially detrimental. I worked with my manager to compromise and two staff members ended up keeping their shifts, with one moving as a "compromise". My farewell drinks were great! I didn't have any alcohol at all. I got help from friends and we swapped drinks so I was drinking diet coke and they were drinking the Vodka and coke that my boss insisted on buying me. He was like "surely you can have one day off". There's no day off when making a life change. I got a great gift - a leather bound notepad and a gift voucher for my favourite bookstore! Now my weigh in wasn't as great when I went to see my consultant on 20/01. I only lost 2 kilos in 2 weeks. I put this down to not drinking enough water and unintentionally deviating due to caraway seeds. I bought my first set of scales 3 weeks ago and checked to see how far out they are on the same day as weight - so my scales weigh me 200 grams lighter than my consultant's scales do. My scales told me on Sunday morning that I was well and truly in double digits. WOOHOO. That being said, I will only update my ticker on official weigh ins. Last time I was this light was 21 years ago when I was 21. My headspace is in the right place. I don't miss the food I used to eat. I've accepted that I need to make permanent change to my eating which means saying no to events where I can't eat, or being prepared and taking food with me and eating my food whilst my friends eat theirs. You know what I miss? Red wine.. a good scotch on ice.. the richness of a pint of Guinness. |

Visited my doctor today, time for a head to toe checkup.
Hope my TOM is done by the time I need to get some of my other bits checked! 😹😹 My doctor is also doing a mental health assessment. Given my issues over the last 12 months, she feels I should get some additional support if needed. BP is down, lower than it used to be but still high. I also get anxious before Doctor visits so bit of whitecoat syndrome there too. Doctors scales also confirm I am in double digit territory. 🙂 |

Re: rettstar's rambles
It's good that your blood pressure was a bit lower. Hopefully it will keep improving. That's awesome you had it confirmed you are in double digits. Can't wait to be there!! Well done on skipping the alchohol at your farewell drinks, that can be a tough one. Goodluck with your next weigh in.

Re: rettstar's rambles
You are doing so well! To be in double digits you must have lost around or over 30kgs THAT IS INCREDIBLE! Wow you must be feeling like a new person, I hope a lot of physical things are getting easier for you.
2016 is gonna be a big year of change for you not only physically but mentally and no doubt emotionally too. Do try to follow your bliss and pursue things that make you happy, I know a lot of change can be stressful, even when you know it needs to happen. Double digits - THAT'S HUGE! well done you. |

Thanks guys
I have spent half my afternoon painting the back room and have completed two coats. I know I haven't prepped it properly- but hubby and I are really budget conscious so it will have to do. We are converting our dining area into a mixed use dining / Study area for the both of us. Handy for me since I will be studying for the next 4 yrs. I am impressed with my stamina. I got hungry so drank loads of water and had a fruit snack and the hungries are under control. I have no intention of doing anything else today except make dinner. I might ask hubby to do his own. My lovely nails are paint spattered. Hopefully I don't need another manicure!! 💅💅 Tomorrow I go to IKEA and order my office desks and then we will put them in on the weekend. The makeover for the study area is less than $1k. I think I will have a good sleep tonight. Hugs to everyone |

We are almost done.
However, life has throw a huge curveball at us. Hubby's job situation changed dramatically for the worst. He may or may not have a job by end of week next week. If that happens, I go back to work until he gets another job. Much harder for him than me to get work. Eh, **** happens |

Re: rettstar's rambles
despite the large amount of personal stress I'm under due to issues with my hubby's employer (he's now resigned) I managed to lose weight and I am now half way through to my weight goal.
Walking has been key to me continuing to lose weight as that's the only way I know is effective for managing stress. I'm not sleeping so well but *shrug* small price to pay. I lost 7.6 kilos or 16.75 lbs in the old money in the last 4 weeks. I started the program on 06/10/2016 - 142 days to lose 34 kilos. Last edited by rettstar; 27-02-2016 at 22:10. |
