Newbie to New You but 2nd attempt at Cohen's
I'm a newbie to this forum but this is my 2nd attempt at my Cohen's Plan. Just wondering if there are many people here that have done the same with success? Unfortuneately many years ago I wasted my opportunity to see my program through to the end and never received my re-feeding program. Silly me!! I could kick myself, where might I be now? I have received advice from a consultant to give it a try for a few weeks, if it is working well my hormone levels may not have changed too much. My bad eating habits still exist so I am hoping that my hormones are ticking away as they have always done. I'm determined to give it 100%, follow the Golden Rules and commit...and I'm very happy to find this forum to support me along the way! |

Re: Newbie to New You but 2nd attempt at Cohen's
Hi Vanessa and Welcome to the forum
I think all of us at the moment have completed the plan and made it to re feed. Personally , I used to put on 10 or 12 kg's and go back on plan and drop it... Then I got sloppy... and this time round had 25 to lose.. Either way you are in the right place to keep you on track if that's what you would like.. Its nice to share the journey with others that are experiencing the highs and lows of the same process. The old plan is a great place to start... you will detox from the world and pretty quickly in the first week know if its working for you still or not Its really great your here.. I look forward reading your dairy and cheering you along You got this |

Re: Newbie to New You but 2nd attempt at Cohen's
Hey Vanessa
Welcome to the Forum. Here, you are among Friends. It is obvious we have been there, done that, because now we are here and do not intend to leave without achieving what we came for We all know that nothing tastes as good as being slim feels, yet we live in the Land of Milk & Honey and it seems such a shame to leave it to go off! Depending on how many years ago you had the First Program, will influence whether you may as well just get the blood test done now and see where that takes you I jiggled around with my 2006 Program in 2008 (just as effective as in 2006) and in 2011 (weight loss tracked OK but refeed significantly less effective). This time I have bought a whole new Program, and the weights and measures 2017 are quite different to the W&M of 2006. If you are not officially on the program then you won't be getting blood tests done. It really isn't possible to tell from the outside about hormones, liver function, insulin production and the other program critical results. If you don't want to get a new program because you don't want to waste the money ie not fully committed to running the full length of the program, I certainly sympathise but perhaps that's why you are here? This Forum was set up by Asy who started her Cohen's program at 166 kilo and competed at 78 kilo. Losing 88 kilo in a few days short of 12 months was superhuman. You haven't said your weight loss goals but we are here every gram of the way. Give some thought to committing yourself fully and to giving yourself the best chance possible, with a new program. What it costs you is money you won't be spending on wine and chocolates over the next few months .... our housekeeping has dropped dramatically over the past three weeks, the program will just about pay for itself The new wardrobe of Size 8 and Size 10 clothing at the other end is, of course, another matter! Welcome aboard and Good Luck on your way to your New You! Lotsa love Kristine |

Re: Newbie to New You but 2nd attempt at Cohen's
Hi newbie. I am in the exact same place. Purchased program in 2007 but didn't follow thru. Thought I'don't try again withe new program in 2014. Eating plan was pretty much the same, except I could now have eggs. Did not follow through. Pretty sick with myself as well, cuz it was money and time wasked on something that works. I just got lazy and was not consistent. Now I am at my heaviest of 228 lbs. I need to loose 93 lbs to reach my target weight Dr.Cohen initially recommended for me. So let's try together as this is my first post too. I am tired of not fitting any of my clothes and fed up its missing out on life due to my embarrassmentor over this weight.

Re: Newbie to New You but 2nd attempt at Cohen's
Im also on round 2 of Cohen´s. I was successful 5 years ago, finished reffed and maintained reasonably well. Unfortunately, let my guard down over the last year or so and slipped back to my old (bad) habits, and went back to my previous weight. Much as I tried, the 2012 plan didnt work for me. So I went on and got a new plan. Im now on day 26 of the new plan, and I feel great! Down nearly 7kg and cant be happier.
